Mula Ram is a former minister of social justice in Jammu and Kashmir, India. [1] He is a leader of Indian National Congress. He elected was Raipur-Domana and Marh constituency in Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.

Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Indian politician

Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was a politician from the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. He started in the wing of the National Conference led by G. M. Sadiq, which later merged into the Indian National Congress, eventually founding his own regional party People's Democratic Party (PDP). He served twice as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, from November 2002 to November 2005 and again from March 2015 to January 2016. He was also Minister of Tourism in Rajiv Gandhi's cabinet. Mehbooba Mufti is an Indian politician of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who served as the last Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir as a State, from 4 April 2016 to 19 June 2018. After the revocation of the special status (autonomy) of the state in August 2019, Mufti was detained without any charges at first and later under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act. She was released only in October 2020, after the Supreme Court of India quizzed the government about the length of her detention.

Gulab Singh First maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir

Maharaja Gulab Singh (1792–1857) was the founder of Dogra dynasty and the first Maharaja of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, the second largest princely state under the British Raj, which was created after the defeat of the Sikh Empire in the First Anglo-Sikh War. During the war, Gulab Singh stayed aloof which helped the British victory. The Treaty of Amritsar (1846) formalised the sale by the British to Gulab Singh for 7,500,000 Nanakshahee Rupees of all the lands in Kashmir that were ceded to them by the Sikhs by the Treaty of Lahore, prior to which his brother Raja Dhian Singh was the longest serving prime minister of the Sikh Empire from 1818 to 1843.

Awantipora or Avantipur or Aavantipur, known as Woontpor in Kashmiri, is a town on the banks of the River Jehlum in the Pulwama district of the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, south of Srinagar and north of Anantnag. Awantipora was named after the Kashmiri king Avantivarman and has the ruins of two 9th century Hindu temples built by him.

Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad Indian politician

Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad (1907–1972) was an Indian politician belonging to the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, who served as the Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir from 1953 to 1964. Bakshi was a member of the National Conference from its founding and rose to be the second in command to the principal leader Sheikh Abdullah. He served as the Deputy Prime Minister of the State of Jammu and Kashmir between 1947–1953, but disagreed with Abdullah's advocacy of independence for the state in 1953. He staged a 'coup' with the help of the Head of State Karan Singh, resulting in the dismissal and imprisonment of Sheikh Abdullah. Bakshi was the longest serving Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, whose rule saw the formulation of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir and a normalisation of relations of Jammu and Kashmir with the Indian government.

Vikas Upadhyay was born in ( 05-11-1975) to a farmer's family in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. His family had no political background but he was attracted to politics from his student days and was known as a firebrand idealist with revolutionary fervor in student politics. He joined the National Students Union of India (NSUI) during his early days of school in 1994. He became the President of NSUI Block, Raipur, was elected as the President of the College Unit and became the District President NSUI. He joined the National Committee as the Secretary, NSUI.

The Harijan Mandal was an Ambedkarite political party in Jammu and Kashmir. The party was founded in 1951. It was modelled on the Scheduled Castes Federation. Unlike its predecessor, the All Jammu and Kashmir Harijan Mandal, this organization was oriented towards electoral politics. It was led by Babu Milkhi Ram (president), Munshi Ram, Major Singh and Sain Das. The party was concentrated in Jammu. Pandit Mangat Ram Sharma was an Indian politician and Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir as well as speaker of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. He was a leader of the Indian National Congress.
