Mulgikapsad (also Mulgi kapsad) is sauerkraut stewed with lard, meat (mostly pork) and pearl barley. [1] It is in the list of the Estonian cultural heritage, [2] and can be considered to be an Estonian national food. [3]
What makes this food unique to Estonia, is added pearl barley, that is not added because of taste, but to inexpensively add a nutritional value and change the visual appearance of the food.
The Republic of Estonia gained its independence from the Russian Empire on 24 February 1918 and established diplomatic relations with many countries via membership of the League of Nations. The 2001 IIHF World U20 Championship, commonly referred to as the 2001 World Junior Hockey Championships, was the 25th edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship. The tournament was held in Moscow and Podolsk, Russia from December 26, 2000, to January 5, 2001. The Czech Republic won the gold medal for the second consecutive year with a 2–1 victory over Finland in the championship game, while Canada won the bronze medal with a 2–1 overtime victory over Sweden.

Estonian eating habits have historically been closely linked to the seasons. In terms of staple food, Estonia is similar to other countries in the Baltic Sea Region.

Triin Aljand is a retired Estonian swimmer who competed for Texas A&M University and won a silver medal at the 2012 European Aquatics Championships in 50 m butterfly. Specializing in the 50 and 100-meter freestyle, she competed in the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Summer Olympics for Estonia, but did not reach the finals.

The Women's T20 World Cup is the biennial international championship for women's Twenty20 International cricket. The event is organised by the sport's governing body, the International Cricket Council, with the first edition having been held in England in 2009. For the first three tournaments, there were eight participants, but this number has been raised to ten from the 2014 edition onwards. In July 2022, the ICC announced that the Bangladesh would host the 2024 tournament and that England would host the 2026 tournament. The number of teams in at the 2026 tournament is also set to increase to twelve.
