The Women's Professional Basketball League was a professional women's basketball league in the United States. The league played three seasons from the fall of 1978 to the spring of 1981. The league was the first professional women's basketball league in the United States.
A draft is a process used in some countries and sports to allocate certain players to teams. In a draft, teams take turns selecting from a pool of eligible players. When a team selects a player, the team receives exclusive rights to sign that player to a contract, and no other team in the league may sign the player. The process is similar to round-robin item allocation.

NorthEast United FC and Goa were the two non-participating teams as they selected their Indian players from both I-League teams, Dempo and Shillong Lajong respectively. Forty of the eighty-four players up for selection have either played for the India national team or have attended a camp for the national team.

Later in the year 2022 the league was rebranded as Prime Volleyball League.

Sony Pictures Networks India is the official broadcaster of the league. RuPay is the title sponsor of the league and signed the contract for three years.

Founded in 2021, Gujarat Titans' home ground is Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera. The franchise is owned by CVC Capital Partners. The team is currently captained by Shubman Gill, after Hardik Pandya was traded back to Mumbai Indians, and coached by Ashish Nehra. Baseball United is a professional baseball league in the Middle East and South Asia. It began with two "showcase" games in Dubai in November 2023. The first season with four teams representing cities in India, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates is expected to take place in 2024.
