History
Mummypowder were formed in 1996 in Helsinki. They quickly signed a record contract with Straightedge Records in 1997 and subsequently played their tenth concert at New York's famous CBGB's-club, followed by a performance at the Austin, Texas rock festival South by Southwest.

Austin is the capital of the U.S. state of Texas and the seat of Travis County, with portions extending into Hays and Williamson counties. It is the 11th-most populous city in the United States and the 4th-most populous city in Texas. It is also the fastest growing large city in the United States, the second most populous state capital after Phoenix, Arizona, and the southernmost state capital in the contiguous United States. As of the U.S. Census Bureau's July 1, 2017 estimate, Austin had a population of 950,715 up from 790,491 at the 2010 census. The city is the cultural and economic center of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan statistical area, which had an estimated population of 2,115,827 as of July 1, 2017. Located in Central Texas within the greater Texas Hill Country, it is home to numerous lakes, rivers, and waterways, including Lady Bird Lake and Lake Travis on the Colorado River, Barton Springs, McKinney Falls, and Lake Walter E. Long.
Texas is the second largest state in the United States by both area and population. Geographically located in the South Central region of the country, Texas shares borders with the U.S. states of Louisiana to the east, Arkansas to the northeast, Oklahoma to the north, New Mexico to the west, and the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas to the southwest, while the Gulf of Mexico is to the southeast.
Their debut album, The Heavyweight Champions, was released in 1999 to a great critical acclaim, although sales were moderate. The second album, V. Strange (2003), was written and almost exclusively performed by Janne Lehtinen. Touted one of the albums of the year by some of the press, the album went mostly unnoticed by the audience. Finally in 2004 Mummypowder joined the ranks of Finnish MTV bands with the video of the first single release, Don't Hold Your Breath, from their third album, Consternation! Uproar! (2004).
In May 2006 the album "Consternation! Uproar!" was released in Japan by SuperSonic, which took the band to a small tour in Tokyo.

Mummypowder's fourth album "Centuries Later" was released in May 2011 by Grandpop Records.
The Rasmus is a Finnish rock band that formed in 1994 in Helsinki while the band members were in upper comprehensive school. The original band members were Lauri Ylönen, Eero Heinonen (bass), Pauli Rantasalmi (guitar) and Jarno Lahti (drums). Jarno Lahti left the year after and was replaced by Janne Heiskanen in 1995. Heiskanen quit the band in 1998 and was soon replaced by Aki Hakala. The Rasmus has sold 5 million albums worldwide, 310,000 copies in their native Finland alone. They have won numerous awards, both domestic and international.
Catamenia is a Finnish black metal band founded in 1995 by Riku Hopeakoski and Mika Tönning in Oulu. They have been signed to Massacre Records since their first full-length release Halls of Frozen North in 1998. As of 2010, they have released nine albums, one EP, and one DVD. They are known for frequent usage of wolves in their album art. Catamenia means “menstruation.” The band did not know about this until a fan pointed it out to them after the release of their debut album. Catamenia is also a kind of bird.
Ultra Bra was a Finnish band, formed in 1994 by Olli Virtaperko and Kerkko Koskinen, and disbanded in 2001.

Don Huonot was one of the most popular Finnish rock bands in Finland in the 1990s. They had many radio hits and their live sessions were known as being very emotional and energetic experiences.
Rapture is a doom metal/melodic death metal band formed in 1997 in Helsinki, Finland.
YUP is a Finnish rock-music group. The band arose amongst three students of the Savonlinna senior high of arts in 1987 and played some rather primitive, progressive hard-core punk with English lyrics. Originally the group consisted of Jarkko Martikainen (guitar), Valtteri Tynkkynen and Jussi Hyyrynen (drums).
Embodyment was a Christian rock band from Arlington, Texas which formed in 1992 and were first known by the name Supplication where they originally played death metal, later turning into a deathcore band with the release of their 1998 debut Embrace the Eternal and then completely abandoned all their extreme metal influences thereafter pursuing an alternative rock/alternative metal style with their album The Narrow Scope of Things and subsequently became lighter with each proceeding album.
Mokoma is a Finnish thrash metal band formed in Lappeenranta in 1996. Their music also has grindcore and death metal influences with traditional Finnish melancholy.

At Vance is a German neoclassical/power metal band. They were formed by vocalist Oliver Hartmann (ex-Centers) and guitarist Olaf Lenk in 1998.
The WCK Band was formed in 1988 in Dominica. The band played a blend of the local Cadence-lypso and traditional Jing ping, Chante mas and lapo kabwit rhythms, which would later be labelled bouyon, a genre which they are credited with creating in the late 1980s.
They Will Return is the second studio album by the Finnish melodic death metal band, Kalmah. It was released by Spinefarm Records on 30 April 2002. This is the first studio album to feature bassist Timo Lehtinen and drummer Janne Kusmin.
Ensign is a hardcore punk band from New Jersey, USA. It was formed in 1995 and signed to Indecision Records in 1996. They signed to the larger label "next door", Dexter Holland's Nitro Records in 1998 and finally came to rest at Blackout Records in 2003 after a brief sortie back to Indecision in 2000.
Bloodpit is a Finnish hard rock band. Before 1998 the band has been named "RIP" and "Turmio". It was founded in 1994 by Matthau Mikojan, lead singer, and Paavo Pekkonen, guitarist. They released their first album Mental Circus in 2005, along with many singles, such as "Platitude", "Bad-Ass Blues", and "Wise Men Don't Cry". Their second album, Off the Hook was released in 2007. The single "Platitude" is on the soundtrack to the EA Sports game NHL 07.
