Murray John Mills (born 29 May 1936) was the 13th Anglican bishop [1] of Waiapu [2] from 1991 to 2002.

He was educated at the University of Auckland and ordained in 1961. [3] He embarked on his ecclesiastical career with a curacy at Papakura. [4] After a similar post in Whangārei he held incumbencies at the Bay of Islands then Matamata. From 1976 to 1981 he was Archdeacon of Waikato then Dean of Waiapu until 1991, in which year he became the diocesan bishop. He was consecrated a bishop on 2 February 1991. [5] He was a member of the Presidium of the Conference of Churches of Aotearoa New Zealand. [6] He is married to Judith Anne Mills. [7]

He was consecrated bishop on 11 June 1940. An enigmatic man, he worked tirelessly to complete the building of Holy Trinity Cathedral.

William Leonard Williams (1829–1916) was an Anglican bishop of Waiapu. He was regarded as an eminent scholar of the Māori language. His father, William Williams, was the first Bishop of Waiapu, Williams was the third bishop, and his son, Herbert Williams, was the sixth bishop of Waiapu.

Peter Geoffrey Atkins was a New Zealand Anglican clergyman, who served as the Bishop of Waiapu from 1983 to 1990.

John William Bluck is a New Zealand author and an Anglican clergyman who served as the 14th Anglican Bishop of Waiapu from 2002 until 2008. From 1990 to 2002 he was the eleventh Dean of ChristChurch Cathedral; until he was ordained to the episcopate on 17 August 2002.

David C. Rice is an American Anglican bishop and former Methodist minister. Since 2017, he has been bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of San Joaquin, Episcopal Church : he had been its provisional bishop from 2014 to 2017. From 2008 to 2014, he was the 15th Bishop of Waiapu in the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. He was consecrated on 7 June 2008. He was previously Dean of Dunedin.

Right Reverend Manuhuia "Manu" Augustus Bennett was a New Zealand Anglican Bishop in the second half of the 20th century. He was born in Rotorua on 10 February 1916 into an ecclesiastical family: his father Frederick Augustus Bennett was the inaugural Bishop of Aotearoa. He identified with the Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Pikiao and Ngāti Rangitihi iwi. Educated at the University of Hawaiʻi and ordained in 1940, he was a Curate in the Diocese of Waiapu before becoming a Chaplain to the New Zealand Forces. When peace returned he was a Māori Missionary at Rangitīkei. Later he was Vicar of St Faith's Rotorua before being appointed Suffragan Bishop of Aotearoa in 1951. He was Bishop of Aotearoa from 1968 to 1981 and a member of the Waitangi Tribunal from 1986 to 1997. He died on 20 December 2001.

The Waiapu Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist, Napier, is the formal name of the Anglican Cathedral of the Diocese of Waiapu. It is more commonly called either Waiapu Cathedral or Napier Cathedral. The Waiapu cathedral is situated at the north end of the central business district of Napier, New Zealand. Construction of the present building was completed 1965, and the cathedral was consecrated on 8th October 1967. It is built in an Art Deco style.
