Murray and Teresa Hatfield

Murray and Teresa Hatfield are magicians from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, having lived there since 2006. [1] Murray Hatfield has performed as a solo performer in Germany, Israel, Cyprus, Mexico, North Pole and Japan. Teresa joined Murray in 1992 as a dancer and by 1995 had become his partner on stage. Together they have toured and performed in New Zealand, Australia, China, Singapore, United Kingdom and throughout North America.

They are the recipients of many major awards including the Canadian Association of Magicians 2005-2006 Canadian Magicians of the Year. In 1997, they were awarded the Pacific Coast Association of Magicians Silver Medal in the ProChallenge Competition. In 2009, the President of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Joan Caesar, awarded them a Presidential Citation for their ongoing contributions to magic.

In 2006, Murray and Teresa purchased a magic shop located in Victoria. After seven years of being owned by Hatfield, the store, which has existed in one form or another since the 1970s, closed its doors for good on August 25, 2013. [2]

In July 2017, the duo performed on the show Penn & Teller: Fool Us, but failed to fool the hosts.

For over 20 years they were the producers and stars of the largest touring magic show in Canada. The show, "Magic 'n Miracles", featured Murray and Teresa plus their guests - some of the most renowned magicians and variety performers in the world. Through 2 plus decades and thousands of shows they helped to raise almost 20 million dollars for charities in Canada and the United States. [3]

In 2016, Murray & Teresa produced and starred in one of the largest magic/illusion shows to appear at a Canadian fair or exhibition. "UNBELIEVABLE!...A Magical Experience" had a cast and crew of 29 magicians, dancers and stage and production crew and was seen by up to 10,000 people per night in the Pacific Coliseum. They were invited to return the following year with an entirely new version of UNBELIEVABLE. [4]

During his lifetime, Tony Slydini was inducted into the Society of American Magicians Hall of Fame as a Living Legend.

A magic convention is a gathering of professional magicians, magical hobbyists, dealers, collectors of magical apparatus, books and ephemera, and other students of the art of magic. It provides a place for lectures of subjects related to the craft, as well as a series of sample performances of noted or innovative techniques. Many conventions also hold competitions to judge who excels at a particular style, and present awards in various categories such as sleight of hand, card tricks, mentalism, and stage illusions. The largest magic convention is The Blackpool Magician's Convention which is attended by over 3,500 magicians.

John Max Thompson was an American comedian and Las Vegas illusionist who performed under the stage name The Great Tomsoni with his wife, Pamela Hayes. They had a comedic slapstick act with the well-dressed Thompson and his gum-popping assistant, Pam, performing illusions while enduring a series of mishaps. Within the magician community, Tomsoni was considered a virtuoso, widely known as a mentor and teacher of magic, and a creator of tricks, as opposed to simply a performer. He worked behind the scenes with magicians such as Penn and Teller, Lance Burton, Criss Angel and Mat Franco. In 1999, he was awarded one of the highest honors in the magician community, a Masters Fellowship with the Academy of Magical Arts. January 30, 2020, Showtime released a documentary about Thompson written and directed by Emery Emery called Gambler's Ballad: The Legend of Johnny Thompson.

Brian Rolè is an active international Maltese magician and illusionist. He was born on Malta's sister island Gozo in 1972 and became a full-time professional magician in 2000. Currently Brian is one of the most popular magicians in Malta due to his regular grand scale illusion shows and various television appearances. Usually he performs with his partner Lola Palmer under the stage name The Palmers. He is a full member of The Magic Circle and the International Brotherhood of Magicians as well as the Malta Magician's Society IBM Ring 202 the International Society of Magicians and most recently in 2020 the Society of American Magicians.

Murray John Sawchuck is a stage illusionist, magician, comedian, actor, and host. Based in Las Vegas, SawChuck has dubbed himself "The 'Dennis the Menace' of Magic," and his shows often consist of a blend of "comical mishaps" that result in illusions and magic tricks. He was featured in the fifth season of America's Got Talent, and is the resident magic historian on Pawn Stars.
