The Museo Civico di Bassano del Grappa is the town art and architecture museum located on Piazza Garibaldi #34 in Bassano del Grappa, in the Vicenza province of the region of the Veneto, in northern Italy. It is housed in a former Franciscan convent.
In the first half of the 19th century, artworks from a variety of suppressed religious institutions became property of the commune. In 1831, a first series of painters were displayed for the public in rooms surrounding the cloister of the Monastery of San Francesco. In 1840, these were joined by paintings from the City Hall's sala del Consiglio, as well as collections of Natural History specimens and books donated by the amateur naturalist Giovanni Battista Brocchi.
The museum in 1978 received a donation of an archeologic collection of the professor Virgilio Chini. The collection includes ceramic vases from the Italian and Greco-Roman towns from the peninsula and abroad.
The Pinacoteca or picture gallery now displays over 500 works, including a large collection of works by and about Jacopo Da Ponte and his studio. The Sezione Canoviana, dedicated to the 19th-century sculptor Antonio Canova, has drawings, designs, letters, sketches, plaster specimens, and a unique collection of monocromi, all related to the artist.
Under the Fondazione CariVerona Arte antica e contemporanea (2006-2007), the museum has begun to sponsor exhibitions of contemporary artists. On 16 September 2017 it sponsored an exhibition about the photographer Robert Capa. [1]
Bassano del Grappa is a city and comune, in the Vicenza province, in the region of Veneto, in northern Italy. It bounds the communes of Cassola, Marostica, Solagna, Pove del Grappa, Romano d'Ezzelino, Campolongo sul Brenta, Conco, Rosà, Cartigliano and Nove. Some neighbourhoods of these communes have become in practice a part of the urban area of Bassano, so that the population of the whole conurbation totals around 70,000 people.

Jacopo Bassano, known also as Jacopo dal Ponte, was an Italian painter who was born and died in Bassano del Grappa near Venice, and took the village as his surname. Trained in the workshop of his father, Francesco the Elder, and studying under Bonifazio Veronese in Venice, he painted mostly religious paintings including landscape and genre scenes. He often treated biblical themes in the manner of rural genre scenes, portraying people who look like local peasants and depicting animals with real interest. Bassano's pictures were very popular in Venice because of their depiction of animals and nocturnal scenes. His four sons: Francesco Bassano the Younger, Giovanni Battista da Ponte, Leandro Bassano, and Girolamo da Ponte, also became artists and followed him closely in style and subject matter.

Leandro Bassano, also called Leandro dal Ponte, was an Italian artist from Bassano del Grappa who was awarded a knighthood by the Doge of Venice. He was the younger brother of artist Francesco Bassano the Younger and third son of artist Jacopo Bassano. Their father took his surname from their town of Bassano del Grappa, and trained his sons as painters.

There are over 3,000 items in 60 rooms on permanent display. About 12,000 items are kept in storage. The museum changes the exhibits periodically so that more of these artworks can be displayed temporarily.

The Parco rurale sovracomunale "Civiltà delle Rogge", often called Parco delle Rogge, is a regional park of local interest as per regional law of Veneto 40/1984, art.27. It is included in the municipal territories of Bassano del Grappa, Cartigliano and Rosà, province of Vicenza, Veneto. The park was established under the provisions of Government of Veneto's deliberations no.801/2002, 1272/2002 e 3283/2002 and has an area of about 250 ha, of which 150 ha are within the municipality of Rosà.
