Cheshire is a ceremonial and non-metropolitan county in northwest England. It is bordered by the counties of Merseyside and Greater Manchester to the north, Derbyshire to the east, and Staffordshire and Shropshire to the south, while the west is bordered by the country of Wales. Cheshire's county town is the cathedral city of Chester, while its most populated town is Warrington. Other towns include Crewe, Ellesmere Port, Frodsham, Knutsford, Macclesfield, Nantwich, Runcorn, Widnes, Wilmslow, and Winsford. Woolston is a settlement and civil parish in the Borough of Warrington in the county of Cheshire, England. Formerly a township called 'Woolston with Martinscroft' within the parish of Warrington, there are two main settlements: Woolston to the west and Martinscroft to the east. The parish is on the north bank of the River Mersey and takes in Paddington to the south-west. It is bounded by the River Mersey to the south, Bruche and Padgate to the west, Longbarn and Birchwood to the north and Rixton to the east.

The Warrington bombings were two separate bomb attacks that took place during early 1993 in Warrington, Cheshire, England. The first attack happened on 26 February, when a bomb exploded at a gas storage facility. This first explosion caused extensive damage, but no injuries. While fleeing the scene, the bombers shot and injured a police officer and two of the bombers were caught following a high-speed car chase. The second attack happened on 20 March, when two smaller bombs exploded in litter bins outside shops and businesses on Bridge Street. Two children were killed and a total of 56 people were injured.

Warrington Bank Quay is a north–south oriented mainline station on one side of the main shopping area, with the west–east oriented Warrington West and Warrington Central operating a more frequent service to the neighbouring cities of Liverpool and Manchester. Cheshire Cat Buses are operated from the station into Warrington Bus Interchange and in the opposite direction to the Centre Park business park, Stockton Heath and further south into Cheshire. The station is directly on the West Coast Main Line.
Warrington Town Football Club is an association football club based in Warrington, Cheshire. They were established in 1949 under the name of Stockton Heath, adopting their current name in 1961. They currently compete in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, the seventh tier of English football, and play at Cantilever Park.
Dallam is a suburb of Warrington, in the Warrington district, in the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It was historically in Lancashire but is now in Cheshire. It is home to a Royal Mail rail terminus on the main West Coast Main Line railway, opposite a large Eddie Stobart distribution centre. Most housing is former council housing. It is situated at the terminus of the Warrington Borough Transport number 16 and 16A bus routes.
