The MDDA Master Plan was formed to ensure an organised and structured development of haphazard growth of Dehradun. The MDDA Masterplan was revised on 19 November 2008 and then amended in 28 November 2013 to form the Master Plan 2025 .
The development of Housing projects by MDDA commenced in 1984 with the construction of houses and providing the basic amenities like electricity, water supply, sewage disposal, and other infrastructure facilities. The new projects undertaken instigate with recognition of project sites, public announcement about the new MDDA housing schemes]in various categories through newspapers and other media advertisements, formal acceptance of the applications, a transparent draw (lottery)system for short-listing of the applicants and finally allotment of the property.
Some popular MDDA Housing Schemes include ISBT (HIG/MIG/LIG/EWS) Housing Scheme, Transport Nagar Phase 2 Housing Scheme, MIG Extension Housing Scheme and Aalayam Housing Scheme that offers home registration along with the property purchase. Dehradun Airport, also known as Jolly Grant Airport, is a domestic airport serving Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, India. It is located in Jauligrant, 25 km (16 mi) south of the city, 20 km (12 mi) from Rishikesh and 35 km (22 mi) from Haridwar. Commercial operations began on 30 March 2008, after the runway was extended to accommodate larger aircraft. A new terminal building was inaugurated in February 2009. The current passenger terminal was inaugurated in October 2021. The airport is the 30th busiest airport in India, with over 1.5 million annual passengers.

Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences is a private medical college located in Patelnagar in Dehradun district, Uttarakhand, India. The medical college hospital was started in April 2002 and the college received permission for MBBS admission in 2006 and Postgraduate courses started in 2011. It was affiliated to Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is a credit-linked subsidy scheme by the Government of India to facilitate access to affordable housing for the low and moderate-income residents of the country. It envisaged a target of building 2 crore (20 million) affordable houses by 31 March 2022. It has two components: Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(Urban) (PMAY-U) for the urban poor and Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (Gramin) (PMAY-G and also PMAY-R) for the rural poor, the former administered by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the latter by Ministry of Rural Development. This scheme converges with other schemes to ensure that houses have a toilet, Saubhagya Scheme for universal electricity connection, Ujjwala Yojana LPG connection, access to drinking water and Jan Dhan banking facilities, etc.

The Uttara Museum of Contemporary Art (UMCA), located at MDDA Complex in Dehradun, is Uttarakhand’s first art museum dedicating multi-dimensional artworks in the memory of the 2013 North India floods (Kedarnath disaster). The museum exhibits various aspects of the calamity and the folk culture of Uttarakhand through paintings, sculptures, and other artworks by artist Surendra Pal Joshi. It also includes an art gallery encouraging younger generation of artists to exhibit modern and contemporary art. The museum is located in one of the Earthquake zones of India and is housed in a specially constructed building to withstand high intensity earthquake and extreme weather conditions.
