Mustafa Mamun [lower-alpha 1] [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] is a Bangladeshi writer and journalist. He is the editor of the Dainik Desh Rupantor. [6] [7] [8] He was also a contributor to several other newspapers, before being the editor of Desh Rupantor. He also wrote many books. [9] [10] He is admired by many in Bangladesh for his writings. He has published more than 100 books.

Early life and education

He was born on 25 December 1974 in Moulvibazar, Sylhet. [11] His father, Abdul Hannan is a freedom fighter. He passed SSC in Sylhet Cadet College and passed HSC in Comilla Ispahani Public School And College. He graduated Law Department of University of Dhaka and Post-Graduate Degree. [9] He was meant to be a lawyer but instead he became a journalist. [12]

Writing

In 1995, He joined the Dainik Bhorer Kagoj. Later on, He joined Prothom Alo in 1998 and became the sports editor of Jaijaidin and also contributed to Bdnews24.com for two years. From 2009, He was the sports editor of Kaler Kantho and became the deputy editor of Kaler Kantho in 2014–2015. [11] In 2022, He joined Desh Rupantor, [9] [13] He was the Executive Editor of Desh Rupantor. [14] [15] [9] He became the editor of Desh Rupantor on 1 July 2024. [9]

The Sohagpur massacre was a mass killing of 187 civilians on 25 July 1971 in the Mymensingh District of East Pakistan during the Liberation War.
