Mustafa Said Qadir (born 6 July 1958 in Qaladize,Sulaymaniyah Governorate) has been Vice President of Kurdistan Region under Nechirvan Idris Barzani's administration since 8 September 2019. [1] [2]
Mustafa earned a degree from Technical Institute of Agriculture in Baghdad in 1979. He was a political prisoner under the Ba'athist Iraq. He used to hold senior positions within Patriotic Union of Kurdistan,including membership in PUK politburo. Currently he is one of the leaders of the Gorran Movement. [2]
Mustafa became a member of the newly established Kurdistan National Assembly in its first the parliamentary election of 1992, [3] and he was appointed as minister of interior in PUK's Sulaymaniyah administration in 1998. [2] He was also minister of Peshmerga.
In 2019 Mustafa was selected as Gorran candidate for Vice President of Kurdistan Region. [4]
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is a political party active in Kurdistan Region and the disputed territories in Iraq. The PUK describes its goals as self-determination,human rights,democracy and peace for the Kurdish people of Kurdistan and Iraq. The PUK is currently under the leadership of Bafel Talabani. The PUK was founded in 1975 by Jalal Talabani,Nawshirwan Mustafa,Fuad Masum,Adel Murad,Ali Askari and Abdul Razaq Feyli. All presidents of Iraq under the 2005 constitution have been from this party.

Nechirvan Idris Barzani is a Kurdish politician serving as the second President of Kurdistan Region,Iraq. He was elected into office by the Kurdistan Region Parliament in June 2019. Nechirvan Barzani was appointed as Vice President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party since 2010. He previously served as Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government from March 2007 to August 2009 and March 2012 to May 2019. Nechirvan Barzani is also the founder of the University Of Kurdistan Hewlêr,the region's top ranking university located in Erbil. His rule combines aspects of Kurdish nationalism,secularism,modernism and reforms,reforms in agriculture and women's rights.
Kurdistan Region,abbr. KRI,is an autonomous region in Iraq comprising the four Kurdish-majority governorates of Erbil,Sulaymaniyah,Duhok,and Halabja,and bordering Iran,Syria,and Turkey. The Kurdistan Region encompasses most of Iraqi Kurdistan but excludes the disputed territories of Northern Iraq,contested between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the central Iraqi government in Baghdad since 1992 when autonomy was realized. The Kurdistan Region Parliament is situated in Erbil,but the constitution of the Kurdistan Region declares the disputed city of Kirkuk to be the capital of the Kurdistan Region. When the Iraqi Army withdrew from most of the disputed areas in mid-2014 following the Islamic State’s invasion of Iraq,Kurdish Forces entered the areas and held control there until Iraq retook the areas in October 2017.
Masoud Barzani is a Kurdish politician who has been leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) since 1979,and was President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq from 2005 to 2017.
The Parliament of Kurdistan,also called the Kurdish Parliament (IKP),is the parliament of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It is made up of representatives from the various parties,lists or slates that are elected every four years by the inhabitants of the provinces of Kurdistan Region currently governed by the Kurdistan Regional Government. In 2009 an amendment was applied to the Kurdistan Election Law of the year 1992,and since then the body was referred to as Kurdish Parliament instead of its previous name the Kurdish National Assembly.
The Gorran Movement or just Gorran (Change) is a Kurdish political party in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Formerly under the leadership of Omar Said Ali,it was founded in 2009 by Nawshirwan Mustafa. Gorran is the sixth largest party in the Kurdistan Region,having lost almost all of its voters (95%) since its foundation,and is now no longer represented in the Iraqi parliament,Nawshirwan Mustafa's sons Chya and Nma were the main cause of the Gorran Movements political and electoral obliteration.
Qaladze is a town in Kurdistan Region,Iraq,north of Sulaymaniyah,near the Iranian border. It is surrounded by mountains like many parts of Kurdistan. The town is located in the middle of Pshdar District.

Halabja Governorate is a governorate in the autonomous region of Kurdistan Region in Iraq. The governorate was established in 2014,splitting off from Sulaymaniyah Governorate and becoming the fourth governorate in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Its capital is the city of Halabja. Halabja Governorate is the least populated governorate.
Parliamentary elections took place in Kurdistan Region on 30 September 2018 to elect Parliament. The ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) came first in a parliamentary election in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq,winning 45 seats,that positioning it to lead the next regional government. A year after a failed bid for independence,Iraq's Kurds voted last month in a parliamentary election. Announcement of the results was delayed for three weeks. The KDP's historic rival and junior coalition partner in government,the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK),was in second place with 21 seats. The results suggest that Masoud Barzani’s KDP will take a dominant position in Kurdish politics.

Bafel Jalal Talabani,known as Bafel Talabani,is an Iraqi Kurdish politician and current leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). He is the older son of former PUK leader Jalal Talabani.
The vice president of Kurdistan Region is the deputy head of the autonomous Kurdistan Region. They are part of the Kurdistan Presidency Council. The vice presidents assist the president in his or her duties and in the president's absence is the acting president.
Canada–Kurdistan Region relations are bilateral relations between Canada and the Kurdistan Region. Canada has an embassy office in Erbil,while the Kurdistan Region has no representation in Canada. Diplomatic relations are described as "close" and a "Parliamentary Friends of the Kurds" group was formed in 2016 by MP Tom Kmiec. Canada also had a military presence in Kurdistan Region by training the Peshmerga. This presence ended in 2017,but the Kurdish government has since asked Canada to resume the training.
