John Mutua Katuku (born in 1965) [1] [2] is a Kenyan politician who served as the Cabinet Minister for Water and Irrigation from 2006 to 2007. [3] He was the Member of Parliament for Mwala Constituency in Machakos County from 1997 to 2007. [1] [3] Mutua Katuku was a Deputy Gubernatorial aspirant in Machakos County in the March 2013 general elections as the running mate to Wavinya Ndeti on a Chama Cha Uzalendo political party ticket. [4] He ran for the Machakos County senatorial by-election of 19 March 2021 on a Maendeleo Chap Chap Party ticket [5] and withdrew from the race two days before voting day. [6] [7]
John Mutua Katuku holds a Bachelor of Arts university degree from the University of Nairobi, and a Master of Arts postgraduate degree in Sociology from Kenyatta University. [1] [2]
In 1996 and 1997, Mutua Katuku worked as a community development officer and administrator at the Child Welfare Society of Kenya. [2]
Katuku was chairman of the strategy caucus that orchestrated the formation of the National Alliance of Kenya political party in 2002. [2]
Mutua Katuku succeeded Martha Karua as the Kenyan Cabinet Minister for Water and Irrigation in 2006.
He has held a seat in the Kenyan parliament as the Member of Parliament for MWala constituency from 1997 to 2007. [8]

The Wiper Democratic Movement–Kenya (WDM-K), formerly Orange Democratic Movement–Kenya (ODM–Kenya), is a political party in Kenya, which originated as a result of the 2005 Kenyan constitutional referendum. The party tends to be more popular among the Kamba people. They will also be the first general elections run by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) which has released the official list of candidates.
Alfred Nganga Mutua is a Kenyan journalist and politician who is serving as the Kenyan Minister for Labour and Social Protection. He previously served as the Minister for Tourism and Wildlife. Before that he served as the Cabinet Secretary (Minister) for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs under President William Ruto. Mutua was, together with the entire Cabinet members, dismissed from the cabinet in July, 2024 as President William Ruto planned to reorganize his Government. He was one of only 10 of the dismissed members of Cabinet who were reappointed back into Cabinet. Twelve of the dismissed Cabinet members were not reappointed.
Bernard Muia Kiala, is the first Deputy Governor of Machakos County. He was born in Masinga Sub-County.
Wavinya Ndeti EGH is a Kenyan politician and a business woman who is serving as the 2nd Governor of Machakos County. She previously served as a member of parliament for the Kathiani Constituency in the 10th Kenyan parliament and an assistant minister in the ministry of youth affairs and sport from 2008 to 2013. She was the first woman to be elected as a member of parliament in Machakos county since independence. She was a CCU candidate in 2013 and WDM-K candidate in 2017 for Machakos Governor.
The 2017 Machakos gubernatorial election took place on 8 August 2017 to elect the governor and deputy governor of Machakos, concurrently with Machakos Senator to the Senate as other Counties and Machakos MPs to the Kenya National Assembly and Elections of County Assembly MCAs.

Nimrod Mbithuka Mbai is a Kenyan politician and the current Member of Parliament for Kitui East Constituency. He was elected on a UDA ticket in the August 8th elections. He won after garnering a total of 14, 256 votes against 10, 899 votes garnered by NARC's Militonic Mwendwa Kitute. The then incumbent Member of Parliament, Major (Rtd) Mutua Muluvi was fourth with 5, 436 votes. He is an ex-police officer and served as security aide to the late Francis Nyenze and later to the current Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua. Governor Mutua appointed him to his government in 2013 after Mbai resigned from his police service. Mbai caused controversy for his rape remarks against Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu because of the governor's support for poll boycott called by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. He later apologised following public outcry and pressure from women's rights group FIDA Kenya
Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen is a Kenyan lawyer and politician serving as the Cabinet Secretary for Ministry of Interior and National Administration. He has overseen the abduction and illegal detention of young Kenyan activists. Moreover, he has been marred in many corruption scandals. He is also the former Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports and also former cabinet secretary for Roads, Transport, and Public Works in Kenya. Murkomen is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a three-time elected Senator of Elgeyo Marakwet County.
