N. K. K. P. Raja (born 8 March 1966) is an Indian politician who served as the Minister for Textiles and Handlooms,Tamil Nadu in the M. Karunanidhi cabinet during 2006-08. He is the son of N. K. K. Periasamy,himself a former minister who held the same portfolio in the 1996-2001 Karunanidhi Cabinet. He is a member of the 13th Tamil Nadu Assembly representing the Erode Constituency in Tamil Nadu and is a member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) political party. [1] [2]
In June 2008,an aged couple claimed that NKKP Raja called them over phone and asked them to register their 10-acre (40,000 m2) land in favour of his men. They alleged that Raja and others had a role in their abduction in connection with a property claim. They also filed a memo apprehending danger to their lives as well as those of their grandchildren. [3] In August 2008,he was dropped from the state cabinet. [4] In October 2009,he was involved in a violent altercation with Sivabalan,the couple's son. Both Raja and Sivabalan were admitted to hospitals with injuries which both of them allege were caused by the other and police registered cases against them. [5] On 26 October 2009,he was expelled from the primary membership of the DMK. [6]
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is a social-democratic and Dravidianist political party in the state of Tamil Nadu and the union territory of Puducherry. It is one of the two main political parties in Tamil Nadu,along with the rival All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. Since the 2021 state election,it has been the ruling party of Tamil Nadu.

The eleventh legislative assembly election of Tamil Nadu was held on 2 May 1996. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) led front won the election and its leader M. Karunanidhi,became the chief minister. This was his fourth term in office. S. Balakrishnan,also known as So. Balakrishnan,of Tamil Maanila Congress,became the Leader of the Opposition. The incumbent All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) government was defeated in a landslide with its general secretary and outgoing chief minister J. Jayalalithaa losing the election from the Bargur constituency. She became the first Incumbent Chief Minister since M. Bakthavatsalam in 1967 to lose her own constituency.
The ninth legislative assembly election of Tamil Nadu was held on 21 January 1989. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) won the election and its leader M. Karunanidhi,became the Chief Minister. It was his third term in office. The DMK was in power only for a short term,as it was dismissed on 31 January 1991 by the Indian Prime minister Chandra Shekhar using Article 356 of the Indian Constitution.

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) won the election,ending the decade-long reign of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). The DMK's leader M. K. Stalin became the eighth Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu,and the 12th Chief Minister since the 1956 reorganization. He replaced Edappadi K. Palaniswami of the AIADMK.
