NET88 is a Vietnamese betting firm founded in 2015. The firm has been in the midst of several controversies since 2024.
NET88 was founded in 2015 by Minh Châu. [1] The UK trademark was filed on 13 March 2024. [2] In 2024, NET88 became the sponsor of Premier League club Crystal Palace for a two-year deal, replacing previous sponsor Cinch. [3] [4] NET88 had little online presence before the deal, and didn't have an Twitter account until June 2024. [5] [6]
In the days following Crystal Palace's announcement, NET88 received large criticism. Trademarks for NET88 and Wolverhampton Wanderers' sponsor DEBET had been filed in the same day. [7] [8] In addition, the image shown for Minh Châu in their website was in reality one of a Vietnamese TikToker named Đặng Ngọc Bích Tuyền, who perished in 2023. [9] [7]
