NY Koen Group is a multinational holding company involved in diamonds, private aviation, digital technologies, tourism, construction and security with executive offices in Dubai, and operational offices in Ukraine. [1] [2] The corporate office is located on board Queen Elizabeth 2. [3]

History

Group’s chief executive officer, Naum Koen, founded the company in 2006, as a diamond-cutting and supply business. [1]

Amber Palm

In 2017, Amber Palm, a subsidiary of NY Koen Group, has presented the world’s first amber stone mosque at the Burj al Arab hotel in Dubai. [4] [5]

GEMGOW

In July 2020, it was reported that GEMGOW, a subsidiary of NY Koen Group, an online platform to facilitate trade of precious stones, would sell a 25% stake to HBK Holding, a holding company owned by Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Nahyan. [6] [7]

Israir / Aero Private Jet

In October 2020, it was announced that Israir Airlines is being auctioned off, the bids need to be submitted by November 8. On October 13, Dubai-based NY Koen Group, headed by Naum Koen, has announced its intention to participate in the auction through its subsidiary, Aero Private Jet. [8] [9] [10]

Kosher Luxury Travel

In light of Israel–United Arab Emirates normalization agreement, In October 2020 NY Koen Group has partnered with Kosher Luxury Travel (KLT) to provide Israeli tourists with kosher needs by establishing a Kosher Center at the Queen Elizabeth 2. The center will be launched in mid-December. [11]

These State-Controlled investment entities grew from what was a vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's predecessors in the year 2000. Since then, the ruling family has selected leading figures to "take over what has proven to be one of the most extraordinary success stories in global investment and development." Some examples of local companies under Dubai Inc. include Dubai World, Dubai Holding, the Emirates airline, and investment subsidiaries under Dubai World, such as Dubai Ports World, Jebel Ali Freezone, Nakheel, P&O Ferries, and others.

Islam is the majority and official religion in the United Arab Emirates, professed by 74.5% of the population as of 2020. 63.3% are Sunni, 6.7% are Shia, while 4.4% follow another branch of Islam. The Al Nahyan and Al Maktoum ruling families adhere to the Maliki school of jurisprudence. Many followers of the Hanbali school are found in Sharjah, Umm al-Quwain, Ras al-Khaimah and Ajman. The Israel–United Arab Emirates normalization agreement, officially the Abraham Accords Peace Agreement: Treaty of Peace, Diplomatic Relations and Full Normalization Between the United Arab Emirates and the State of Israel, was initially agreed to in a joint statement by the United States, Israel and the United Arab Emirates on August 13, 2020, officially referred to as the Abraham Accords. The UAE thus became the third Arab country, after Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994, to agree to formally normalize its relationship with Israel, as well as the first Persian Gulf country to do so. Concurrently, Israel agreed to suspend plans for annexing parts of the West Bank. The agreement normalized what had long been informal but robust foreign relations between the two countries. The agreement was signed at the White House on September 15, 2020. It was approved unanimously by the Israeli cabinet on October 12 and was ratified by the Knesset on October 15. The UAE parliament and cabinet ratified the agreement on October 19. The agreement went into effect on January 5, 2021.
