South Korea, as Korea, competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, United States. The nation returned to the Summer Games after participating in the American-led boycott of the 1980 Summer Olympics. 175 competitors, 116 men and 59 women, took part in 97 events in 19 sports. As the country hosted the next Olympics in Seoul, a traditional Korean segment was performed at the closing ceremony.
Slovenia first participated as an independent nation at the Olympic Games at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France, and the country has sent athletes to compete at every Games since then. Qatar competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which was held from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The country's participation at London marked its eighth appearance in the Summer Olympics since its début at the 1984 Summer Olympics. The delegation sent by the Qatar Olympic Committee consisted of twelve athletes in athletics, shooting, swimming and table tennis. The 2012 Games marked the first time Qatar sent female athletes to the Olympic Games; following the 2008 Summer Olympics, it had been one of only three countries, along with Saudi Arabia and Brunei, to never have done so.
Bhutan competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. This marked the nation's eighth appearance at the Summer Olympics since its debut in the 1984 Summer Olympics, and the first in which the nation competed in a sport other than archery. The Bhutanese delegation included archer Sherab Zam and shooter Kunzang Choden. Zam was the flag bearer for both the opening and closing ceremonies. Neither of Bhutan's athletes progressed beyond the first round of their events. Bhutan was one of only two countries to have a female-only team at the 2012 Games.

Nur Suryani Mohd Taibi is a Malaysian sports shooter. She competed in the Women's 10 metre air rifle event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Taibi gained fame at the Games for being eight months pregnant. She did not advance beyond the qualification round.
Adéla Bruns, née Sýkorová is a Czech sports shooter. She competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics and in both the Women's 10 metre air rifle and Women's 50 metre rifle three positions events at the 2012 Summer Olympics. In the latter event, she won the bronze medal.

Jasmine Ser Xiang Wei is a Singaporean sports shooter. She competed in the Women's 10 metre air rifle and the 50 metre rifle 3 positions events at the 2012 Summer Olympics. More recently, she won gold in the 50 meter rifle 3 positions category with a Games record at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. She previously won gold at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in the 10 air rifle, and silver in the 50 m rifle 3 positions and the 10 m air rifle pairs and the 50 m rifle pairs at the same Games. She also competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics. When she won silver at the 2006 Asian Games in the 10 m team air rifle event, her sister, Adrienne Ser, was part of the team.
Stephanie Obermoser is an Austrian sports shooter. She competed in the Women's 10 metre air rifle and women's 50 metre rifle three positions events at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Andrea Arsović is a Serbian sport shooter. She won a gold medal in the 10m air rifle at the 2015 European Games and is also a two-time European champion in the same discipline as well as a three-time champion in mixed team and once in women's team. Arsović won a gold medal at the 2009 and 2018 Mediterranean Games. She competed in the Women's 10 metre air rifle and women's 50 metre three positions events at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Kim won her first Superseries title at the 2012 India Open in the women's doubles event. She reached a career high of world no. 1 in the mixed doubles in September 2016.
