Naadodikal is a 1959 Indian Malayalam film, directed by S. Ramanathan and produced by T. K. Pareekutty. [1] The film stars Prem Nawas and Ambika Sukumaran in the lead roles. The film had musical score by V. Dakshinamoorthy. [2]

The cinema of India consists of films produced in the nation of India. Cinema is immensely popular in India, with as many as 1,600 films produced in various languages every year. Indian cinema produces more films watched by more people than any other country; in 2011, over 3.5 billion tickets were sold across India, 900,000 more than Hollywood. Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad are the major centres of film production in India.

Prem Nawas was an Indian film actor and producer in Malayalam cinema, and the younger brother of perennial Malayalam cinema hero Prem Nazir. His parents were Shahul Hameed and Asmabeevi. He lost his mother at a very young age, and his father remarried. He moved to Madras, before his brother, in search of a film career. He debuted as the hero of Koodapirappu in 1956. He was the hero in the first colour film made in Malayalam, Kandam Becha Kottu. He also played an important role in the blockbuster 1974 film Nellu, directed by Ramu Kariyattu. When he found he could not succeed as well as his brother as an actor, he turned to producing films. He produced the award-winning blockbuster Agniputhri (1967), starring his brother and Sheela, the evergreen pair of Malayalam cinema. His son Prem Kishore was an actor as well, and appeared in two Malayalam films, Vacation and Thaskara Puthran.

Ambika is an Indian film actress best known for her work in Malayalam cinema during the 1950s and 1960s. She is a close relative of the Travancore Sisters; Lalitha, Padmini and Ragini, and also Shobana, Krishna and Sukumari. Ambika also was initiated to go along that path and she debuted in Udaya Studio's film Visappinte Vili in 1952. In 1968, she acted as the lead actress in the first full-length comedy in Malayalam cinema Viruthan Shanku, directed by P. Venu. She acted in more than 80 movies.
