Nadia Essex (born 16 December 1981) [1] is an English television personality and columnist. She is known for appearing as a dating expert on the E4 reality series Celebs Go Dating from 2016 to 2018. [2] [3] [4]

Career

In 2016, Essex became one of the dating experts on the E4 dating reality series, Celebs Go Dating . She appeared on Good Morning Britain in 2017. [5] In 2018, she appeared as herself on three episodes of Celebrity Ghost Hunt [6] In January 2018, Essex appeared on the fourth series of Celebrity Coach Trip , alongside Bobby-Cole Norris. [7]

In 2018, she was suspended from Celebs Go Dating for trolling her former co-host Eden Blackman on social media. [8] [9] She was removed from show midway through filming of the fifth series in September 2018, reportedly due to "improper use of social media". [10] [11] [12] Lime Pictures issued a statement confirming her suspension, saying she was "found to be setting up fake accounts to troll certain users – which is something that won’t be tolerated".[ citation needed ] Despite admitting to setting up several trolling Twitter accounts, Essex subsequently started legal proceedings against Blackman and Lime Pictures. [13] [14] Essex's case against Blackman was thrown out of court but he obtained a harassment order against Essex in 2020 due to the 'false claims Ms Essex made against' him. [15] [ better source needed ] If Essex breaches the order she will face 'fines, have her assets seized, or be imprisoned if comments are found to contain content deemed as harassment'. [16]

Celebs Go Dating is a British dating reality series. It began broadcasting on 29 August 2016 on E4, with the first series having 15 episodes. Paul Carrick Brunson and Anna Williamson currently appear as the dating agents, with Tom Read Wilson as a client coordinator. Rob Beckett narrates the series. Following the conclusion of the eighth series, two special editions of Celebs Go Dating were commissioned due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on television: Celebs Go Virtual Dating and Celebs Go Dating: The Mansion. The series has since resumed its regular format.
