Nadine Krause (born 25 March 1982, in Waiblingen) [1] is a former German handballer who last played for Bayer Leverkusen as a left back. She made her debut on the German A-Team in 1999, at the age of 17. She was voted IHF World Player of the Year 2006. [2]
She is naturally left handed, but was known for being able to play with both hands. [3]
Krause started playing handball in her hometown Waiblingen. [3] Later she joined VfL Waiblingen, where her father, Jürgen Krause was coaching. [4]
She then joined HSG Blomberg-Lippe.
From 2001 to 2007 she played for TSV Bayer Leverkusen. Here she won the 2002 DHB-Pokal and the 2005 European Challenge Cup. [5] She was the topscorer in the Bundesliga in the 2004/2005 and 2005/2006 season.
In 2007 she joined Danish side FCK Håndbold, where she played for three years before returning to HSG Blomberg-Lippe. With FCK she won the Danish cup in 2009. She was the topscorer of the Danish league in the 2007/2008 season. [6]
In 2012 she joined Bayer Leverkusen once again [5] to play for a single season before retiring. [7]
Krause debuted for the national team on November 23th 1999 against Romania at the age of 17.
She was top scorer at the 2005 World Championships, and finished 6th with the German team.
At the 2006 European Championship she was once again top scorer with 58 goals.
She also represented Germany at the 2008 Olympics.
She missed the 2009 World Championship in China due to injury. [8] She returned to play at the 2011 World Women's Handball Championship. [9]
Anita Görbicz is a Hungarian former professional handballer who played for Győri ETO KC and the Hungary national team. She is widely regarded as one of the best handball players of all time, and was voted IHF World Player of the Year in 2005 by the International Handball Federation. Görbicz has also been given the nickname the Queen of Handball internationally.

Lars Roslyng Christiansen is a former Danish team handball player. He is European Champion, winning the 2008 European Men's Handball Championship and 2012 European Men's Handball Championship with the Danish national handball team. He was top scorer at the 2008 championship together with Nikola Karabatic and Ivano Balić, and was also voted into the 2008 All-star team.

Bojana Popović née Petrović, is a handball coach and a retired Montenegrin handballer. She is considered by many to be the best female handball player of the past decade, despite not being given any official recognition. After winning the Women's EHF Champions League with Budućnost and a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games with the Montenegro national team, Bojana Popović decided to retire from handball. However, in June 2016 Popović announced she would come out of retirement and make herself available for selection by the Montenegro national handball team to compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
