Under-Graduate

B.Com. Semester Courses

Major Courses are in the subject of Accountancy, Management and Finance. The course consists of three academic years with two semesters in each academic year. [2]

BBA Course

Course compromises of 3 academic years and each academic year consists of 2 semesters. Each semester shall approximately consist of 19 weeks of teaching. [3]

B.Sc Course

"B.Sc. with Major in Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany and Mathematics under Gauhati University will be started from next session 2020-2021 as per the Govt. of Assam notification." [4]

History

Nagaon Gopinath Dev Goswami Commerce College is the only full-fledged institution of higher education in commerce, in the entire central Assam region. The college was started on 24 September 1984 on the premises of Sankardev Natya Chora under the name of Nagaon Commerce College. It was renamed as Nagaon GNDG Commerce College. after the name of late Gopinath Dev Goswami, an illustrious son of Nagaon and was shifted to its present site at Panigaon, Nagaon in 1991. The college owes its existence to the pioneering work of its founder President late Ratnakanta Bora, Rtd. I.A.S. and the founder-principal Sjt Kamal Chandra Goswami and the donations of the family of the late Gopinath Dev Goswami. Starting with only 139 students in the year of its inception, the college has blossomed into an institution for commerce education with a sizable number of students in its rolls every year. This College is affiliated with Gauhati University ,Guwahati (Not an Autonomous College) [5]

North Gauhati College,( উত্তৰ গুৱাহাটী মহাবিদ্যালয়) established in year 1962, is one of the oldest general degree colleges situated in Guwahati, Assam. This college is affiliated with the Gauhati University. The College was then one and only higher educational institute of entire Northern part of the Kamrup rural district. It offers courses like Higher Secondary (12th) Arts and Science stream, Bachelor of Arts (B.A) (major/minor), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) (major/minor), B.Voc, and some certificate courses. In the academic year 2012-2013, the College had completed 50 years of its glorious existence and celebrated as Golden jubilee year.

Nowgong College is an autonomous college affiliated to Gauhati University. Established in 1944, it is one of the oldest co-educational colleges of Assam, situated in the city of Nagaon. It was initially established with the permission of the University of Calcutta but later, in 1948, the college was accorded affiliation to the Gauhati University. On 22 December 2020, the college was granted autonomy by the University Grants Commission for a period of 10 years. It was Upgraded into University in 2023.

Hojai College, established on 11 July 1964, is a general degree college situated in Hojai, Assam. This college is affiliated with the Gauhati University. The college offers H.S. courses and three-year degree courses in bachelor's degrees of arts, science and commerce. Master's degree in Assamese was started in the academic session 2016–17. The educational institution also provides courses in Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) under Gauhati University, Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU), and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) courses.
