Naima Bock is an English musician, previously a member of the band Goat Girl.

Career

Bock was originally the bassist for British indie-rock band Goat Girl, performing under the name Naima Jelly.

After departing Goat Girl, Bock signed with Sub Pop and released her debut single, "30 Degrees". [1] Bock's second release was a cover of the Brazilian song Berimbau. [2] In early 2022, Bock released a new song titled "Every Morning". [3] In April 2022, Bock announced her debut album, Giant Palm. [4] [5] The album received positive reviews [6] and was named Stereogum's "Album of the Week". [7]

In February 2023, Bock released a new song called "Lines". [8] [9]

Their initial lineup consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Clottie Cream, guitarist and occasional lead vocalist L.E.D., bassist Naima Jelly and drummer Rosy Bones. UK music magazine DIY describe them as being "imbued with an innate ability to voice the socio-political concerns of their peers with wit and style". In 2019, bassist Holly Hole joined the band, replacing Naima Jelly.

Black Dresses were a Canadian noise pop duo consisting of Ada Rook and Devi McCallion, formed in 2017. Their debut album, Wasteisolation, was released independently in 2018. The duo released three additional albums, Thank You (2019), Love and Affection for Stupid Little Bitches (2019), and Peaceful as Hell (2020), before breaking up in 2020 in response to harassment received by McCallion. Despite maintaining their declaration of disbandment in 2020, Black Dresses released three additional albums, Forever in Your Heart (2021), Forget Your Own Face (2022), and Laughingfish (2024). Upon releasing Laughingfish, the band announced that it would be their final album.
