Nalbari Medical College and Hospital is an Indian medical college with an attached hospital located in Nalbari, Assam, [2] that opened in 2023. [3]
The college operates under the State Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Assam. It is recognised by National Medical Commission and affiliated with Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, Guwahati. [4] The college had an intact capacity of 100 undergraduate students in the academic year 2021–22. [5]
On 14 April 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the college and Hospital, along with All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Guwahati and two other medical colleges. [6]

Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS), Guwahati, Assam, India is established in 2009 as per The Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences Act, 2007. The Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences is the only Health Sciences University in the North Eastern Region with its jurisdiction to the whole of Assam.

Assam Combined Entrance Examination (Assam-CEE) is a state-government controlled centralized entrance examination, conducted by the Assam Science and Technology University for admission into the seven premier government engineering colleges in Assam. The test is taken after the 12th grade for admission to graduation courses. The exam can be taken by those who studied Pure Science stream in plus two level with the specific subjects tested in the examination, which are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. Every year approximately 25,000 - 40,000 students take the examination, and it is increasing every year. Students of both Assam Higher Secondary Education Council and the Central Board of Secondary Education board take the test. Formerly the examination was conducted by Dibrugarh University and since 2018 it is conducted by Assam Science & Technology University. It was previously known as the Assam Joint Admission Test (Assam-JAT) until the year 2012 and comprised both engineering and medical entrance examinations. Since then, the medical section of JAT was known as Assam Medical Entrance Examination (Assam-MEE).
The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is a group of autonomous government public medical universities of higher education under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. These institutes have been declared by an Act of Parliament as Institutes of National Importance. AIIMS New Delhi, the forerunner institute, was established in 1956. Since then, 24 more institutes were announced.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Guwahati is a public medical institute and hospital based in Guwahati, Assam under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government Of India ,and one of the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMSs). On 26 May 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the Institute. The institute was inaugurated on 14 April 2023 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The institute has an annual intake of 100 MBBS students. The academic activity for the first batch of 50 MBBS students started in January 2021.
