Nallur is a panchayat town in Tenkasi district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located in a municipality under Aalangulam Panchayat Union . Its parts are Kasiyapuram, Aladipatti, Vaithilingapuram,Sivakamiyapuram, Kamarajnagar, Aravankudieruppu, Periyarnagar,Rajivkantinagar.

The primary industry is agriculture, grocery, rice mills, oil production plant, garment manufacture, tirunir manufacture, coconut copra drying, July brick, woodwork, involved in the palattarapatta. Most of the women is involved in the beedi roller work.[ citation needed ]

He was elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly as a member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam from Alangulam constituency in 1967, 1971 elections and 1996 elections. He was elected to the Lok Sabha the lower house of India's Parliament from Tirunelveli constituency in the 1977 elections. He was also a member of the Rajya Sabha the upper house of India's Parliament as a member of the Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. He came into limelight when he issued dissent note in the JPC report on the Bofors Scandal against a clean chit to Rajiv Gandhi government. He was murdered in 2004.
