Nana Ama Browne Klutse (born 23 May 1981) is a Ghanaian lecturer and climatologist.
Nana Ama Browne Klutse was born on 23 May 1981 at Nyanfeku Ekroful, Ghana. She had her primary education at the Anomabo Methodist Primary and JHS. [1]
She continued to Mfantsiman Girls Secondary school and later went to University of Cape Coast in Ghana to read BSc Physics. She pursued her PhD Climatology at University of Cape Town in South Africa. [1]
Klutse studies climate dynamics of West Africa. Her work focuses on climate science and development specifically on the African monsoon. [2] [3] She is Associate Professor and the Head of the Department of Physics, University of Ghana. [4] In the past, she managed the Remote Sensing and Climate Centre. [5] Klutse is a Climate Science Fellow of the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences [6] and a lead author contributing to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6). She was elected vice-chair of working group I of the IPCC in July 2023. [7]
She also actively encourages girls in Ghana to consider science careers and supports improvements in science education in the country. [8]
Klutse worked at the Ghana Space Science and Technology Institute of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission as a senior research scientist from 2016 to 2018. [4] Prior to this, she had been a guest lecturer at the West African Science Service Centre on Climate and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) in Akure, Nigeria. [9]
Klutse is also active in politics as a member of the National Democratic Congress. [4]

Mfantsiman Municipal Assembly is one of the twenty-two districts in Central Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Mfantsiman District, which was created from the former Mfantsiman District Council; until it was later elevated to municipal district assembly status on 29 February 2008 to become Mfantsiman Municipal District. However, on 28 June 2012, the eastern part of the district was split off to create Ekumfi District; thus, the remaining part has been retained as the Mfantsiman Municipal Assembly. The municipality is located in the southwest part of Central Region and has Saltpond as its capital town.
Moree is a town with small seaside resort in Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese district, a district in the Central Region of south Ghana. Moree was founded by giants Asebu Amanfi and his brother Farnyi Kwegya, and prolific hunter called Adzekese. Asebu Amanfi and Farnyi Kwegya were believed to have led an army that chased Israelites during the exodus. When their men drowned in the sea, they could not return to Pharaoh but fled Egypt with their family across Lake Chad to Nigeria and finally settled in Moree, then a village and small seaside resort in Ghana. Upon arrival in Moree, the Egyptian giants established their kingdom with prolific hunter, Adzekese. Asebu Amanfi was made the first King of the Asebu kingdom while Nana Adzekese became the first Chief of Moree. Moree developed around Fort Nassau, which was the original fort on their Gold Coast taken over by the Dutch West India Company when this was founded in 1621.
The Ghana Space Science and Technology Institute (GSSTI) was opened officially on 2 May 2012 as Ghana’s first space science, space exploration, astronomy and technology space agency. It is an Institution under the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission. GSSTI and Ghana Space Agency (GhSA) aim to become an arena of excellence in space science, space exploration and space technology through teaching, learning, private spaceflight and space research commercialisation.
