Natesan Krishnasamy Rangasamy is an Indian politician who is the Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Puducherry. He previously served as the chief minister from 2001 to 2006 and from 2006 to 2008 as a member of the Indian National Congress and then from 2011 to 2016 as a member of his own party, the All India N.R. Congress. He holds the record of becoming Chief Minister within three months after creating his own party and also holds the record of becoming chief minister of Puducherry for the fourth time.

He held the position as 11th Chief Minister of Pondicherry from 1991 to 1996 and 16th Chief Minister of Puducherry again from 2008 to 2011. He is a senior legislator serving eight consecutive terms.

The Puducherry Legislative Assembly is the unicameral legislature of the Indian union territory (UT) of Puducherry, which comprises four districts: Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahé and Yanam. Out of eight union territories of India, only three have legislatures and they are Delhi, Puducherry and Jammu and Kashmir. After delimitation shortly after its formation, the Puducherry legislative assembly has 33 seats, of which 5 are reserved for candidates from scheduled castes and 3 members are nominated by the Government of India. 30 out of 33 Members are elected directly by the people on the basis of universal adult franchise and the remaining three are nominated by the central government. These nominated members enjoy same powers as elected members of the assembly.

Velu Narayanasamy is an Indian politician who served as the 10th Chief Minister of Puducherry from 2016 to 2021. He is a member of Indian National Congress political party.

Subrahmanyan Ramassamy was an Indian politician who was the fourth Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Puducherry, then Pondicherry. He served 3rd Assembly from 6 March 1974 to 28 March 1974 and 4th Assembly from 2 July 1977 to 12 November 1978.

M. O. H. F. Shahjahan is an Indian politician. He is a member of the Indian National Congress in the Union Territory of Puducherry. He won the 2016 Puducherry Legislative Assembly election from Kalapet constituency by a narrow margin of 500 votes over All India N.R Congress' candidate P.M.L. Kalyanasundram who had earlier defeated him in the 2011 Puducherry Legislative Assembly election in the same constituency. He has been a Revenue, transport, IT, minority affairs minister in the Government of Puducherry. He represented Lawspet constituency between 2001 and 2011 and Kalapet constituency from 2016 to 2021. He is also the son of M. O. H. Farook who was former Chief Minister of Pondicherry.

After 2021 Puducherry Legislative Assembly election, N. Rangaswamy was sworn in as Chief Minister of Puducherry on 7 May 2021. According to a Puducherry Gazette notification dated 25 May 2021, "the President has been pleased to appoint" A Namassivayam, K Lakshminarayanan, C Djeacoumar and A K Sai J Saravana Kumar as Ministers in the cabinet.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">15th Puducherry Assembly</span>

The Fifteenth Assembly of Pondicherry succeeded the 14th Assembly of Pondicherry and was constituted after the victory of National Democratic Alliance in the 2021 assembly election that was held on April 6, 2021.

Elections to the Puducherry Legislative Assembly were held in June 1991, to elect members of the 30 constituencies in Puducherry, in India. The Indian National Congress won the popular vote and the most seats, and V. Vaithilingam was appointed as the Chief Minister of Puducherry. The Indian National Congress was in an alliance with the AIADMK.
