Natalie Ann Higgins (born August 28, 1995) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for USL Super League club Lexington SC.
Higgins was born in San Clemente, California. [1] She attended San Clemente High School, where she captained the soccer team and was named to the First Team All-California. [2] [3] [4] [5] She played club soccer for West Coast FC in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) and took part in the Cal South Olympic Development Program. [2]
From 2014 to 2017, Higgins played collegiate soccer for the Oregon State Beavers in the Pac-12 Conference. [6] [7] [1] She made 74 appearances, scored 9 goals, and recorded 5 assists. [8] [9] [10] [11] She was named Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention in three seasons and graduated with a degree in digital communication arts. [12] [13] [14] [15]
In 2018, Higgins signed with Ravenna FC in Italy. In 2019, she joined Melbourne City FC in Australia’s A-League Women and also played for Box Hill United. [16]
In 2021, she was rostered with Angel City FC during the preseason and played for the Cleveland Ambassadors in the Women’s Premier Soccer League. [17] [18]
Higgins signed with Rovaniemen Palloseura in Finland’s Naisten Ykkönen in 2022, scoring 22 goals in 20 matches. [19] In 2023, she joined Helsingin Palloseura in the Kansallinen Liiga and made one appearance in the Kansallinen Cup before sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
On June 21, 2024, Higgins signed with Lexington Sporting Club for the inaugural USL Super League season. [20] [21] [22] [23] [24] She debuted on April 26, 2025, as a substitute against Dallas Trinity FC after recovering from a preseason ankle injury. [25] [26] [27] She made five appearances in the 2024–25 season and re-signed for the 2025–26. [28] [29]
In 2023, Higgins was featured in Rebound, a documentary series about anterior cruciate ligament injuries in women’s soccer. [30] The series followed her rehabilitation process following the injury. [31] [32] [33]
