The Emmy Awards, or Emmys, are an extensive range of awards for artistic and technical merit for the American and international television industry. A number of annual Emmy Award ceremonies are held throughout the calendar year, each with their own set of rules and award categories. The two events that receive the most media coverage are the Primetime Emmy Awards and the Daytime Emmy Awards, which recognize outstanding work in American primetime and daytime entertainment programming, respectively. Other notable U.S. national Emmy events include the Children's & Family Emmy Awards for children's and family-oriented television programming, the Sports Emmy Awards for sports programming, News & Documentary Emmy Awards for news and documentary shows, and the Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards and the Primetime Engineering Emmy Awards for technological and engineering achievements. Regional Emmy Awards are also presented throughout the country at various times through the year, recognizing excellence in local and statewide television. A weather presenter is a person who presents the weather forecast daily on radio, television or internet news broadcasts. Using diverse tools, such as projected weather maps, they inform the viewers of the current and future weather conditions, explain the reasons underlying this evolution, and relay to the public any weather hazards and warnings issued for their region, country or larger areas. There are no basic qualifications to become a weather presenter; depending on the country and the media, it can range from an introduction to meteorology for a television host to a diploma in meteorology from a recognized university. Therefore a weather presenter is not to be confused with a meteorologist, or weather forecaster, the holder of a diploma in meteorology.

Keenan Smith is an American television broadcaster who is a reporter/anchor for the morning and noon newscasts at WXYZ-TV in Detroit, Michigan. Smith joined the network around September 2010 and served as the morning and noon meteorologist until March 2018. WXYZ-TV meteorologist Kevin Jeanes succeeded him with this role in the same time frame. Prior to his employment at WXYZ-TV, he was at WPTV in West Palm Beach, Florida, from 2008 to 2010 and WGN-TV and CLTV in Chicago, Illinois, before that.
Harvey Leonard is a former chief meteorologist on WCVB-TV Channel 5 in Boston, Massachusetts. For 25 years, Leonard was previously best known as a meteorologist at Boston's WHDH-TV.
William Herschel Sharpe, Jr. was the lead anchor on Charleston, South Carolina broadcast station WCSC-TV. He had been with the station since October 1973. In addition to granting the Southeast Emmy Awards, this division awards scholarships, honors industry veterans at the Gold and Silver Circle Celebration, conducts National Student Production Awards of Excellence, has a free research capability and a nationwide job bank. The chapter also participates in judging Emmy entries at the regional and national levels.

Wes Hohenstein is an American on-camera meteorologist for WNCN in Raleigh, North Carolina who holds the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval. Hohenstein brings viewers the weather on CBS 17 at 5, 6 and 11 p.m. and has worked for WNCN since 2006. He has also worked in Louisiana, Utah, Texas and Arizona. While in Houston, he was known for the Sunshine Award, where he visited schools across southeast Texas in the station's helicopter nearly every day. He also had the misfortune of swallowing a bug live on TV one day during his weather broadcast and, thanks to the Internet, made news all around the world.
Veronica Johnson is an American meteorologist who is the chief meteorologist at WJLA-TV. She was named a Fellow of the American Meteorological Society since 2011.
