He played professionally as a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). Burleson played college football for the Nevada Wolf Pack and was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He was also a member of the Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions.
