Nate Mulberg is an American assistant coach of the Richmond Spiders baseball team,and of the Israel national baseball team. [1] [2] In college,he played shortstop for the Yellowjackets at the University of Rochester.
Raised in Cherry Hill,New Jersey, [3] Mulberg played prep baseball at Cherry Hill High School East,where he graduated in 2010. [4] He played baseball for the high school for four years,and ran cross country for two years. [5] After high school,he attended the University of Rochester where he captained the baseball team. He completed a Master of Education from Millersville University in 2016, [6] a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2022,and a Master of Non-Profit Management from the University of Richmond in 2022. Mulberg now lives in Richmond,Virginia with his wife Kristen Litchfield Mulberg. [6]
Mulberg was a four-year starting shortstop for the Yellowjackets at the University of Rochester ('14),where he studied English and Business. He graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. [1] He is in the top 10 in school history in sacrifice hits,assists,double plays turned,and most times hit by a pitch. [1] He is a two-time CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District selection,and a three-time Liberty League/University Athletic Association All-Academic team. [1]
In his senior year in 2014 he batted .359 with a .468 on base percentage,and was the 6th-toughest batter to strike out in NCAA Division III. [1] As team captain,he helped lead Rochester to its first ever Liberty League Championship Game while being named to the 2014 Liberty League Championship All-Tournament Team.
Mulberg was Assistant Baseball Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Franklin &Marshall College from 2014 to 2016. [7] He was then Assistant Baseball Coach at Bucknell University for the Bisons in 2016. [8] [7] He has been a University of Richmond Assistant Baseball Coach/Recruiting Coordinator and infield/catching instructor for the Spiders since 2017. [9]
Mulberg has been the baseball assistant coach of the Israel national baseball team since 2019. [10] [11]
The team played in the 2019 European Baseball Championship - B-Pool in early July 2019 in Blagoevgrad,Bulgaria,winning all five of its games and advancing to the playoffs against Team Lithuania in the 2019 Playoff Series at the end of July 2019 for the last qualifying spot for the 2019 European Baseball Championship.
In September 2019,Mulberg coached Team Israel to a fourth-place finish at the 2019 European Baseball Championship in Germany. Among the teams Team Israel defeated was Team Germany. [12] [13]
He also was on the coaching staff for Israel at the Africa/Europe 2020 Olympic Qualification tournament in Italy in September 2019,which Israel won to qualify to play baseball at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Mulberg was the first base coach for Team Israel at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Israel won the country's first-ever Olympic baseball game after defeating Mexico,en route to finishing in fifth-place in Tokyo.
In October 2021,Mulberg was the recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award [14] at the 11th annual Katz JCC Sports Award Dinner for his work as a coach for Israel.
The Netherlands national baseball team is the national baseball team of the Kingdom of the Netherlands,representing the country in international men's baseball. They are currently ranked as the best team in the WBSC Europe,and the team is also ranked seventh in the WBSC World Rankings.

In Israel,baseball was historically not a popular sport,the IAB founded by Randy Kahn in 1985,is one of six nations to qualify in baseball for the 2020 Olympics has yet to be felt. There are approximately 1,000 players in 16 cities across the country. Volunteer coaches and donors are instrumental to the growth and development of the sport as baseball resources are very low. Israel is currently ranked 19th in the world in the sport.

Ben Orloff is an American baseball coach and former shortstop,who is the current head baseball coach of the UC Irvine Anteaters. He played college baseball at UC Irivine for head coach Mike Gillespie,where he won the Brooks Wallace Award,as the nation's best college shortstop. He has also played in the World Baseball Classic,for the Israeli national baseball team,before pursuing a professional baseball career for the Houston Astros organization from 2009 to 2013. He retired on June 12,2013,and became an assistant coach for the UC Irvine.

Jonathan de Marte is an American-Israeli professional baseball pitcher and pitches for Team Israel. He is 6-1 and weighs 205 lbs. As a high school player,he was a two-time New York State Gatorade Player of the Year. He played college baseball for the University of Richmond. In 2018,he became a dual Israeli citizen. He signed a minor league deal with the Chicago Cubs in 2020,but never pitched for the organization due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He plays for the Israel National Baseball Team,and pitched for Team Israel at the 2019 European Baseball Championship. Eric Holtz is an American former manager of the Israel national baseball team. He was the assistant coach of gold-medal-winning Team USA in baseball at the 2013 Maccabiah Games,and the Team USA head coach for the gold-medal-winning Under-18 baseball team at the 2017 Maccabiah Games. He was the Head Coach of the 1st and Only Olympic Baseball team to represent Israel.
