The Adelaide Football Club, nicknamed the Crows, is a professional Australian rules football club based in Adelaide, South Australia. The club was founded in 1990. The club has fielded a men's team in the Australian Football League (AFL) since 1991, and a women's team in the AFL Women's (AFLW) competition since 2017. The club's offices and training facilities are at Football Park in the western Adelaide suburb of West Lakes, the site of the club's old home ground between 1991 and 2013. Since 2014 Adelaide have played home matches at the Adelaide Oval, a 53,500-seat stadium located a few hundred metres north of the Adelaide CBD. Daniel Butler is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played 45 matches over a five-year tenure at Richmond, after being drafted by the club in the fourth round of the 2014 AFL national draft. The 2019 Australian Football League season was the 123rd season of the elite Australian rules football competition and the 30th under the name 'Australian Football League', having switched from 'Victorian Football League' after 1989. Eighteen teams competed in the league, the same as the previous seven seasons. The first game was played on Thursday, 21 March, and the season concluded with the 2019 AFL Grand Final on Saturday, 28 September. Richmond defeated Greater Western Sydney by 89 points in the grand final, marking their twelfth premiership.
