The National Bank of Slovakia (NBS) building is a skyscraper in Bratislava, Slovakia. Opened on 23 May 2002, it is the headquarters of the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS) .
The NBS building is located in Bratislava I District – the Old Town, At 111 m tall, it is one of the tallest buildings in Bratislava.
The public tender for the NBS building received 24 competitive proposals. A jury of 21 specialists in architecture, construction, and banking assisted NBS in choosing the winner. The project went to Martin Kusý and Pavol Paňák. Construction started in November 1996.
The lower horizontal part of the building houses the operational facilities of the Bank. The building also includes a congress hall and exhibition premises. This part of the building is built around a central yard with a raised green area.

The design was realised exclusively by Slovak companies. The construction was carried out by the Association H – V – Z (Hydrostav, a.s., Bratislava, Váhostav, a.s., Žilina, ZIPP, s.r.o., Bratislava). Engineering activity was provided by the Association of Engineering (Keramoprojekt, a.s., Trenčín, Keraming, v.o.s., Trenčín, Chempik, a.s., Bratislava).

Eurovea connects the Bratislava Riverfront with the city center and offers stores and leisure time facilities while housing businesses, apartments and a Sheraton hotel. Phase I of the Eurovea complex was developed by Ballymore Properties at the cost of €350 million and it opened after four years of construction in 2010.
Digital Park is a complex of seven modern office buildings located in the Bratislava district Petržalka on Einsteinova Street near the highway D1 and the shopping center Aupark on the opposite side. The main building is connected with Aupark by a footbridge over the highway; it connects the two buildings on their second floors.

The Diocese of Banská Bystrica is a Roman Catholic diocese in central Slovakia. Its seat is in Banská Bystrica. On Tuesday, November 20, 2012, according to biographical information in a press release from the Holy See Press Office's Vatican Information Service (VIS), Pope Benedict XVI appointed Auxiliary Bishop Marián Chovanec of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Nitra, Titular Bishop of Massita, as Bishop-elect of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Banská Bystrica. Bishop Chovanec was born on September 16, 1957 in Trenčin, Slovakia, a part of the Diocese of Nitra. He was expelled from the Seminary in Bratislava, Slovakia, because he had refused to cooperate with the Government-backed Association "Pacem in Terris". He then worked as a laborer. After seven years, he was able to conclude his theological studies and be ordained a priest in 1989; he became an Auxiliary Bishop of Nitra in 1999 and Vicar General in 2003 and is active in the Slovak Bishops' Conference.
The Archdiocese of Trnava is a Latin Catholic archdiocese in western Slovakia including bigger part of the Trnava, and parts of Nitra and Trenčín regions. It has its seat in Trnava. Although it is an archdiocese, it is not a metropolitan and is instead a suffragan of Bratislava. In 2013 Pope Francis appointed Auxiliary Bishop Ján Orosch as the next Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Trnava.
Aupark Tower is a high-rise building in Bratislava located in the district of Petržalka which is a part of the shopping center Aupark. It was built by the HB Reavis Group company in 2007. In 2012, Heitman European Property Partners IV purchased the building for €85.6m. Currently, the office space of the building is occupied by a number of tenants, including Telefónica O2 Slovakia, Eset, Procter & Gamble and AT&T, among others.
St. Nicholas Church in Bratislava is an Orthodox church situated on the castle hill next to the Bratislava Castle in Podhradie the historical part of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. The church was built in 1661 by Paul Pálffy's (1589–1655) widow Countess Frances, née Khuen. It is an early baroque building built on the place of original Gothic church below the Bratislava Castle. The church is consecrated to St. Nicholas, the patron of sailors. His statue is situated in the stone niche above the main entrance to the church. The church is a protected cultural monument.
Hodžovo námestie is a major square in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. The square is located at the edge of Old Town, in front of the Slovak Presidential Palace, some 5 minutes walking distance from the historical city center. It is considered to be the center of Bratislava and it is the place of almost all of the foreign states visits.
Nivy is a neighborhood of the Ružinov borough of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, located in the Bratislava II district. At the end of the 19th century, the area underwent massive industrialization becoming the first industrial part of Bratislava. In the 1950s to 1970s, the area was redeveloped into a residential suburb. At the end of the 20th century large-scale construction of office buildings started again to change the character of the neighborhood and in the 21st century, Nivy became the location of the emerging new city centre of Bratislava. It is an important transport hub featuring the Bratislava Central Bus Station.
The architecture of Slovakia has a long, rich and diverse history. Besides Roman ruins, Slovakia hosts several Romanesque and Gothic castles and churches, most notably Spiš Castle, which were built at the time of the Kingdom of Hungary. Renaissance architecture was of particular relevance in town hall squares, such as in Bardejov and Levoča. Affluent architecture in the following centuries made use of Baroque, Rococo and historicist styles, while vernacular architecture in the countryside developed a specific style of wooden houses and wooden churches. In the 20th century, Slovakia knew Art Nouveau and modernist architecture, including socialist modernism, and finally contemporary architecture.
