Paintball is a competitive team shooting sport in which players eliminate opponents from play by hitting them with spherical dye-filled gelatin capsules called paintballs that break upon impact. The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) is a college athletics association like the NAIA and NCAA. The purpose of the Association is to be an organization of collegiate affiliated programs, which provides structure, regulates operations, and promotes quality in collegiate ice hockey. The interest in college hockey has grown as the game of hockey has grown in the United States. But as aggressively as the sport has grown at the grass-roots level, the number of NCAA programs has not expanded as rapidly to meet the demand as these youth players reach college and look to extend their hockey-playing experience. This is why the ACHA level was created.
College softball is softball as played on the intercollegiate level at institutions of higher education, predominantly in the United States. College softball is normally played by women at the Intercollegiate level, whereas college baseball is normally played by men.
The Oregon State Beavers are the athletic teams that represent Oregon State University, located in Corvallis, Oregon. The UC Davis Aggies are the athletic teams that represent the University of California, Davis. For football, the Aggies compete in Division I FCS, and are members of the Big Sky Conference, granting UC Davis the distinction of being one of only three UC campuses to field a football team. The Aggies are also members of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in women's gymnastics and women's lacrosse, the America East Conference in field hockey, and the Western Water Polo Association for Men's Water Polo.
