NatureSweet LTD is a San Antonio-based produce grower, packager and seller. The company grows its tomatoes in greenhouses in Willcox, Arizona and six factories in three states of Central Mexico, Jalisco, Nayarit and Colima. [4] [5]

History

NatureSweet was founded in Devine, Texas, in 1990 under the name Desert Glory LTD. [6] The company began selling tomatoes nationwide in 2012. [7] In 2013, NatureSweet purchased the assets of the greenhouse grower, EuroFresh Farms. [8] [9] To increase production in 2016, the company partnered with Ganfer, a greenhouse vegetable growing company in North America. [10] In 2017, it was reported that the company's Cherubs tomatoes were the number one small tomato in the United States. [6]

The company is vertically integrated. [11] and grows a variety of tomatoes that includes Glorys, Cherubs, SunBursts, Jubilees and Eclipses. [3] [12]

NatureSweet's tomatoes are verified as a non-GMO product by The Non-GMO Project and all of its facilities are Level 3 SQF certified. [13] [6]

Tomberry is a trademarked name for an unusually small cultivar of tomatoes developed by the Dutch company Eminent Seeds and produced by the Netherlands company Littletom BV and distributed in the United Kingdom and continental Europe. The Tomberry is about 0.5 to 1 cm in diameter with an average fruit weight of 1 to 2 grams. The fruits grows on branches containing 300 tomatoes. As of 2021 they were sold in Poland, Turkey, Spain, Canada, Mexico and Israel.

Kumato is a trade name given to a patented cultivar of tomato developed in Spain called Olmeca, which went by experimental number SX 387. Kumato is a standard-size tomato cultivar weighing between 80 and 120 grams. It is firm, with a color ranging from a green to reddish brown or purple, varying in flavor from almost no flavor to sweeter than typical tomatoes due to a higher fructose content. As the Kumato is a hybrid, planted seeds will not necessarily grow plants identical to the parent.

Delta 3 greenhouse in East Ladner, southwest British Columbia, may be the world's largest cannabis greenhouse. As of 2018, the greenhouse is owned by Pure Sunfarms, a wholly owned subsidiary of Village Farms International. In early 2018, it was licensed to expand to 1,100,000 square feet (100,000 m2) (25 acres), enough to produce 75 metric tons of cannabis annually.
