Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) is a proposed planning area in Raigad district of Maharashtra, an Indian state. City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited (CIDCO) has been appointed planning authority for the same. [2] [3] It comprises approximate 170 villages in Pen, Panvel, and Uran talukas of Raigad district. [2] The city will consist of small cities that will be hubs for agro-farming, education, trade, information technology, services, medical treatment, etc. [2] This city is being developed in fulfilment of the conditions under which environmental clearances were given by the Ministry of Environmental & Forest (MoEF), Government of India that development plan for Navi Mumbai be modified to prevent unplanned development in the vicinity of the proposed airport. [4] NAINA enjoys proximity of Navi Mumbai and has influence of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), JNPT (Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust) and proposed transport corridors viz. Multi Modal Corridor, Mumbai Trans Harbor Link (MTHL), Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC), SPUR etc. [5]

Panvel is a city and taluka in Raigad district of Maharashtra, India. It is highly populated due to its closeness to Mumbai. Panvel is also governed for development purpose by the body of Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Panvel Municipal Corporation is the first Municipal Corporation in Raigad and the 27th Municipal corporation of Maharashtra State.

Khalapur taluka is a taluka in Raigad district of Maharashtra. The headquarters of the taluka is Khalapur village. This taluka belongs to the Karjat sub-division, and comprises 130 villages, 5 revenue circles and 25 sajas. 56 villages of this taluka come under NAINA. Khalapur toll naka is one of the busiest tolls in the state as it serves as an important transit point for goods from the Nhava Sheva port to automative and industrial belt of Pimpri Chinchwad.

The Panje-Dongri wetlands is located in the coastal town of Uran, Navi Mumbai in Raigad district of Maharashtra in India. It is a major bird watching site in Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The wetland is home to 1.4 lakhs migratory birds in the winter. It is the last surviving wetland at Uran.
