Navin Samarasinghe (born 5 June 1982) is a former Sri Lankan male squash player. [1] He has been a Sri Lankan national squash champion on 8 occasions. (1999, 2000, 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012) [2] [3]

Samarasinghe has represented the nation in the 2006 Asian Games and at the 2010 Asian Games.

Kala Bhushana Bandusena Samarasinghe, popularly known as Bandu, is an actor in Sri Lankan cinema, theater and television. One of the most popular comedians in Sinhala cinema, Bandu is best known for comedy roles in several blockbuster film franchises such as Re Daniel Dawal Migel, Cheriyo, Jolly Halo as well as Somy Boys. In addition to acting, he also worked as a director, scriptwriter, singer, lyricist and producer. In April 2022, he was appointed as the Consul General in Milan, Italy replacing Neela Wickramasinghe who died while serving in the relevant position. However, it was revealed that he himself would not accept as the Consul General in Milan due to disappointment of the government’s conduct.

Peeter One is a 2013 Sri Lankan Sinhala comedy, family film directed by Bandu Samarasinghe and produced by Sisira Senaratne for Swarna Films. It stars Bandu Samarasinghe in lead role along with Veena Jayakody, Rodney Warnakula and Nilanthi Dias. Music for the film is done by Jayantha Rathnayake. The film became one of Sri Lanka's blockbuster movies with reaching more than 150 days in cinema theatres. It is the 1188th Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema. This is the fourth film direction by Bandu Samarasinghe. His son Kanchana Samarasinghe and second daughter Rasoga Samarasinghe also introduced to the first time in cinema.

Romesh Weerawardane is a Sri Lankan chess player. Weerawardane was the first Sri Lankan to be an International Master. Weerawardane competed in two Chess Olympiads in 2010 and 2016, scoring 2/6 and 2.5/10 respectively. He serves as a FIDE Instructor.

Chanithma Sinaly Veera Samiyel is a Sri Lankan professional squash player. She is also the current national champion in women's singles in the sport of squash. She achieved her highest career PSA world rankings of 161 in November 2023.
