Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona (born 30 June 1996) commonly known [4] by her stage name Makhadzi [5] , is the South African local [6] queen of Afro-wedding (Manyalo) songs. She is best known for her hit songs 'Tshanda Vhuya' and "Matorokisi" which was the crossover song on 7 South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Radio Stations for 2019-2020, one of which being PhalaPhala FM. She is well known by singing in her native tongue Tshivenda. She has featured in 'Rorali' by Sho Madjozi , 'Vuwani ni mpfarepfare Remake' by King Monada, "Tja Manyalo" by Candy and 'Jola Kule' by Master KG [7] .

Early life

Ndivhudzannyi [8] was born [9] in a small village called Ha-Mashamba Tshivhangani, just outside Elim in Limpopo province. After her parents separated, Ndivhudzannyi and her 2 siblings had to stay with their mother. She is eager to be a good example to her siblings as she is the firstborn. She completed her grade 12 at Mukula Integrated school. Ndivhudzannyi obtained her qualification in Public [10] Relations and she is currently studying Drama. [11]

Music Career

Ndivhudzannyi joined the Makirikiri Musical Group in 2010 to be a dancer. She started to have a desire in singing, whereby one day she [12] decided to play around in studio by recording herself singing, the recording manager got hold of her recording and offered her the opportunity to record in his studio [13] . Her first album was in 2012, she has released 6 albums to date. As a teenager, Ndivhudzannyi traveled to France, Mozambique and Zimbabwe to perform. On the 9th of March, she dropped a new track Zwigevhenga. She released the best song called "Tshikwama" in 2019 which is going to take her far since it is popular in South Africa and throughout the Southern part of Africa. [14] She also released a hit song that took South Africa by storm called "Matorokisi" and took her to the top of the game and she was also featured by Durban based Kwaito artist DJ Tira in a song that's also making waves "Riya Venda", and also by Tipcee on Siyabagqilaza track. 2019 has been the best year to Makhadzi.

Television

In 2018 Ndivhudzannyi [15] was invited to YO TV, for her first Television appearance. She has since conducted interviews with radio stations such as Phalaphala FM, Nzhelele FM, Makhado FM , Sloot FM, and Capricon FM , where she spoke about her music [16] , life and her hardships. [17] She also appeared on the Morning Show on etv.

Award

In 2017 Ndivhudzannyi [18] was named [19] winner of the best Tshivenda hit with her song Yo Shoma [20] during the Limpopo Music [21] Awards ceremony held at Meropa Casino Hotel. The sky is not the limit for Ndivhudzannyi as in 2018 was awarded four TSHIMA awards for all categories she was nominated for; Best Tshivenda dance artist/Album of the year, female artist of the year, [22] Tshivenda song of the year, and Best Tshivenda artist of the year. George Muthundinne Phadagi, was a member of the African National Congress (ANC),former Member of Parliament, South African struggle stalwart, politician, mayor and former MEC. He served as the first mayor of Thohoyandou from 1994 to 1999, then member of the National Parliament from 2002 to 2008 and towards the end of his life was MEC of Public Works and MEC of Safety Security and Liaison in 2010 to 2011 and was political consultant to then Premier of Limpopo Cassel Mathale at the time of is passing in 2012.
