The Neapolis University Pafos (NUP) is a private university in Paphos, Cyprus, that offers graduate and undergraduate degrees in Economic and Business Studies, Law, Health Sciences, Architecture & Land and Environmental Sciences,Theology and Greek Civilisation.
In October 2007 the university was listed in the Register of Universities of the Ministry of Education following a decision of the Cabinet. Michael Leptos, founder of Leptos Estates, serves as President. [1] In June 2010 the university took the initial license of operation. The decision was made after a positive recommendation of E.A.I.P. On the basis of the successful response of the provisions of the law, the final authorization will be granted to the university. All programs of the university are fully recognised by the Republic of Cyprus and all EU countries. [2]
After thorough evaluation, the National Academic Recognition and Information Centre (NASIR) of Greece recognised Neapolis University Pafos as equivalent to a Greek University in July 2012.
The Neapolis University of Pafos operates under the relevant law of private universities in Cyprus. Study programs are evaluated and approved by a special committee, the Evaluation Committee of Private Universities (E.A.I.P., www.ecpu.ac.cy). This committee has the overall supervision of the operation of the university.

The programs in architecture and real estate are also recognized by the Professional and Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK). Moreover, the postgraduate programme of the Real Estate is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

The University Campus has classrooms and amphitheatres, teaching, research and computer labs, architectural studios, a main library, student dormitories. Northern Cyprus is recognised only by Turkey, a country which facilitates many of its contacts with the international community. After it was occupied by Turkey, Northern Cyprus' relations with the rest of the world were further complicated by a series of United Nations resolutions which declared its independence legally invalid. A 2004 UN Referendum on settling the Cyprus dispute was accepted by the Turkish Cypriots but rejected by the Greek Cypriots. After that, the European Union declared its intentions to assist in reducing the economic isolation of Northern Cyprus and began giving aid to the territory. However, due to pressure from Greece and the Republic of Cyprus, this aid coming from EU funds cannot be used on Greek Cypriot land and property nor on public bodies. As a result, these funds can be used only on 29 percent of people on the island of Cyprus.
The European University Cyprus (EUC) is a private non- profit university in Nicosia, Cyprus which evolved out of Cyprus College, the oldest institution of higher education in Cyprus. EUC has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and performance. The institution has a current enrollment of over 8,500 students and provides internationally recognized undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate degrees. The Cyprus Police Academy is the main educational institution for law enforcement officers in Cyprus. It was founded in 1990 in succession to the Police Training School. It is recognised as a higher education institution by the Cyprus Council for the Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications (ΚΥ.Σ.Α.Τ.Σ.) and operates under the Ministry of Justice and Public Order as a police unit in the organisational structure of the Cyprus Police. It works on a permanent basis, both for the education of cadet constables and for the training of all police members irrelevant of their rank. Primary mission of the academy is to provide adequate education and training to all members of the service, so that they become competent to perform the diverse tasks of law enforcement.
Foreign relations have reportedly always been strong between Armenia and Cyprus. Cyprus has been a supporter of Armenia in its struggle for the recognition of the Armenian genocide, economic stability and the resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Grand Lodge of Cyprus, or in the Greek language, Μεγάλη Στοά της Κύπρου, is the sovereign governing body of freemasonry within the Republic of Cyprus. Its formal English name is "The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Cyprus, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons." While four of its constituent lodges are approaching 100 years of age, the Grand Lodge of Cyprus itself came into being on February 15, 2006. Thus it is one of the youngest grand lodges in the world.
Ayios Andreas or Tophane is a Neighbourhood, Quarter, Mahalla or Parish of Nicosia, Cyprus. In September 1945, the Ottoman name of Tophane was changed to Ayios Andreas, but there is no parish church of that name.
