Nefarious Realm is a metal, hardcore, and extreme music-themed website and media company, founded by Matt Darcy in early 2006. The website mainly covers the latest in band, music, and industry news, provides a wide array of features including interviews, an album release schedule, music videos, and release reviews. The website also boasts original articles, columns, and feature segments including interviews with bands, industry professionals, alternative models and porn stars which include Suicide Girls and Burning Angel.
While for the first few years, the website went relatively unknown. It was not until 2008 that it began to get recognition and after a major overhaul in late 2011, Nefarious Realm really saw its beginning starting in 2012.
Nefarious Realm started presenting shows in 2007 with one local show featuring Slayed Innocence and Kultur among others. It was not until 2009 until the second show which then started nearly two years of continuous concerts. [1] Of which was a small festival, Rock Your Face Off Fest that was held in 2010 and 2011. The shows ranged from local showcases to international touring bands including The Ocean and Wormrot. The last show was held in November 2011.
In July 2012, Nefarious Realm announced the planning of a free 666 song compilation, titled The Number of the Compilation. [2]
In the beginning of 2013, Nefarious Realm announced the launch of an imprint vinyl record label, Threshold of Pain Records. The first four releases include Seemless's debut self-titled released back in 2004 and again in 2005 through Equal Vision Records, Orwell, Earthrise, and Abnormality. [3] [4]
Launched in the beginning part of 2013, Nefarious Realm created the imprint specialty vinyl-only record label Threshold of Pain Records to release very limited edition offerings with superb packaging and the highest quality in mind.
On April, 2013 it was said that instrumental sludge band Giza would also be releasing an LP through Threshold of Pain. [6]
On February 27, 2010, Nefarious Realm held its biggest event, The Rock Your Face Off Fest which featured Skull Hammer, We Met Aliens, Hivesmasher, The Bathory Silence, Wheels Of Justice, The Summoned, Widow Sunday, Ravage, and headliners The Empire Shall Fall who consist of members of Killswitch Engage, Seemless, and The Dear Hunter making their debut Massachusetts appearance at the event. On March 5, 2011, the second Rock Your Face Off event was held with Revocation as the headliner and support from Burning Human, Widow Sunday, Acaro, Orwell, Hivesmasher, Tight Rope, Thoughts In Reverse, In Dying Arms, Sirens, Nemecide, and Pathogenic. [8]
Suicidal Tendencies is an American crossover thrash band formed in 1980 in Venice, California, by vocalist Mike Muir, who is the only remaining original member of the band. Along with D.R.I., Corrosion of Conformity, and Stormtroopers of Death, they are often credited as one of "the fathers of crossover thrash". Their current lineup includes Muir, guitarists Dean Pleasants and Ben Weinman, bassist Ra Díaz and drummer Dave Lombardo. Kung Fu Records is an American independent record label founded in 1996 by Joe Escalante and Warren Fitzgerald of the punk rock band The Vandals. Founded in order to release a record by the Riverside, California band Assorted Jelly Beans, the label soon grew to include a roster of notable artists such as The Ataris, Ozma, Tsunami Bomb, and The Vandals themselves. In 2000 Escalante started Kung Fu Films as a subsidiary of the music label in order to release DVDs of live concerts, music videos, band documentaries, and independent films. In 2005 Kung Fu also spawned the spinoff label Broken Sounds Records, focusing on hardcore releases.

Glassjaw is an American rock band from Hempstead, New York. Bolt Thrower were an English death metal band from Coventry. They formed in 1986 and released their first album with Vinyl Solution in 1988. The band then shifted to a new record label, Earache Records, soon becoming one of the best selling bands on that label. Their last label was Metal Blade Records. The band had a succession of members, and had toured Europe, the United States, and Australia. Over the course of their 30-year career, Bolt Thrower released eight studio albums, three EPs, one live album, three compilation albums and two demos. On 14 September 2016 the band announced that they were breaking up, following the death of drummer Martin Kearns exactly a year earlier.

Facedown Records is a Christian rock record label based in Fallbrook, California that is devoted to hardcore punk and metalcore bands with a few death metal acts such as Immortal Souls and Indwelling. Founded by No Innocent Victim drummer Jason Dunn in 1997, the label started small with a number of 7" record releases by Overcome, Dodgin Bullets, and Born Blind. As the label grew, it was able to sign artists for full album deals. xDISCIPLEx released material on Facedown, as well as Figure Four and Point of Recognition. The label also signs straight edge groups such as xDEATHSTARx and xLooking Forwardx.

Kill Your Idols is an American hardcore punk band from New York, active from 1995 through 2007 and again from 2013 to the present. They were signed to SideOneDummy Records. Their releases on SideOne were Funeral for a Feeling (2001), a split with 7 Seconds in 2004, and From Companionship to Competition (2005). Other notable releases by the band were No Gimmicks Needed and This Is Just The Beginning... which were released on Blackout! Records. The band released several 7" EPs, splits with other bands, multiple compilation tracks, and two full-length LPs in their 11-year run. Most of their records were released on vinyl as well as compact disc. Some were released on different colors of vinyl, different sleeve covers, hand numbered tour presses, and picture discs, making their records a favorite among collectors.
