Negeri Lencho is an Ethiopian academic and politician who has served as the Minister of Communication Affairs in the cabinet of Hailemariam Dessalegn from 2016 to 2018,succeeding Getachew Reda. [1]
Lencho completed a master's degree from the English and Foreign Languages University in 2004. He later received his PhD from Andhra University in India in 2011,and went on to teach at Addis Ababa University,serving as Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Language Studies. [2] He previously wrote articles critical of the government's dominance of the domestic media.

Nayi is an Omotic language of the Afro-Asiatic language family spoken in western Ethiopia. Most of the speakers of the language live in two separated areas. The largest grouping live in Decha woreda of the Keffa Zone. The nearest city to their region is Bonga. A few in Dulkuma village of the Shoa Bench woreda,some in Sheko woreda having moved there in 1976-1977 as a result of conflicts between local feudal lords and the military government. In Decha,young people no longer speak the language.

Getatchew Haile was an Ethiopian-American philologist widely considered the foremost scholar of the Ge'ez language and one of its most prolific. He was the first Ethiopian and the first African to win the award.

The Burayu massacre was a series of communal clashes which occurred in the vicinity of the Ethiopian town of Burayu,in the Oromia Region,on 14–16 September 2018.
