Nerjyzed Entertainment, LLC (NE) is a privately held video game and 3D animation development and publishing company founded in 2003, and headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. [1] Nerjyzed is responsible for the development of Black College Football: BCFX: The Xperience, the first video game to solely feature sports teams from Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU's). The founding members of Nerjyzed hold undergraduate and graduate degrees from HBCUs.

Nerjyzed was the first videogame company to be certified as a participant in Louisiana's digital media tax incentive program. [2]

According to several reputable news sources, Nerjyzed began experiencing financial problems in 2009 and ultimately stopped paying employees. [3]

Eddie Robinson (American football coach) American college football coach

Eddie Gay Robinson Sr. was an American football coach. For 56 years, from 1941 to 1942 and again from 1945 to 1997, he was the head coach at Grambling State University, a historically black university (HBCU) in Grambling, Louisiana. Robinson is recognized by many college football experts as one of the greatest coaches in history. During a period in college football history when black players were not allowed to play for southern college programs, Robinson built Grambling State into a "small" college football powerhouse. He retired in 1997 with a record of 408–165–15. Robinson coached every single game from the field and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1997. Robinson is arguably the most successful college football coach in FCS history and has the third most victories in college football history.

Episcopal School of Baton Rouge is a private, college-preparatory, coeducational day school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Founded in 1965, it has approximately 950 students residing in East Baton Rouge Parish and surrounding areas, and has a student/teacher ratio of 11:1. Ace Mumford American football coach

Arnett William "Ace" Mumford was an American football coach. He served as the head football coach at historically black colleges and universities in Texas and Louisiana from 1924 to 1961, compiling a career college football record of 233–85–23. His head coaching positions were at Jarvis Christian College (1924–1926), Bishop College (1927–1929), Texas College (1931–1935), and Southern University (1936–1961). He has been inducted into at least eight halls of fame for his coaching accomplishments.

<i>Black College Football: BCFX: The Xperience</i> video game

Black College Football Experience (BCFx) is a sports video game centered on the culture of black college football. BCFx was created by Nerjyzed Entertainment, Inc., of Baton Rouge, LA. It features Historically Black Colleges & University (HBCU) football teams from three HBCU conferences including the SWAC, SIAC, and several schools within the MEAC as well as independent HBCUs. The game features nearly 40 teams, bands, interactive halftime shows, stadiums, play-by-play commentary, and ten Classic games such as the Turkey Day Classic, Bayou Classic, Florida Classic, Atlanta Football Classic and the Southern Heritage Classic. BCFx was released on Windows-based PC systems in November 2007. An Xbox 360 version titled "The Doug Williams Edition" was released September 29.

Jackson State–Southern football rivalry

The Jackson State–Southern football rivalry is a college football rivalry between the Jackson State University Tigers and Southern University Jaguars. An annual conference game between two historically black universities in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, its location usually rotates between JSU's Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium and SU's A. W. Mumford Stadium, but it has also been held at larger venues to accommodate the crowds that the game draws. As of 2019, the Jaguars lead the series 36–29.

The MEAC/SWAC Challenge is an annual historically black college college football game showcasing a team from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and a team from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). The series began in 2005 and initially paired the defending conference champions, although the selection process was broadened to include non-champions as well, in 2007. Through the 2018 season the MEAC leads the series with nine wins to the SWAC's four. The Challenge is televised nationally on ESPN and is owned by ESPN Events. The Red River State Fair Classic is an American college football game played annually in Shreveport, Louisiana, at Independence Stadium during the State Fair of Louisiana. It traces its historical lineage from a series of 160 games played over the 106 football seasons between 1911 and 2016. By having first paired historically black colleges and universities in 1922, the contest holds the distinction of being the oldest annual black college football classic, edging out the Turkey Day Classic by two years and the similar Texas State Fair Classic by three years. Also, so far, the earliest documented use of the term "classic" as part of an annual black college football game's formal name has been dated to the 1927 Louisiana State Fair Classic.
