Nesheim is a village in Vaksdal municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The village is located in the upper part of the Eksingedalen valley, along the river Storelvi. The village sits at the intersection of two roads: County Road 344 which runs through the whole valley and County Road 313 which crosses the mountains into the next valley to the south, Teigdalen (in Voss). Nesheim is the site of Nesheim Church.

The village of Nesheim lies about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) to the east. Flatkvål is the site of Eksingedal Church.

The village lies at the western end of the Bergsdalen valley, about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) northeast of the village of Stanghelle on the shore of the Veafjorden. The 0.72-square-kilometre (180-acre) village has a population (2019) of 1,193 and a population density of 1,657 inhabitants per square kilometre (4,290/sq mi). The small village of Dalegarden at the southern end of Dale is included in the "urban area" of Dale.
Mo is the administrative centre of Modalen municipality, located in northern Vestland county, Norway. The village lies at the mouth of the river Moelva, where it empties into the Romarheimsfjorden. The small village has about 100 residents. It is the seat of the municipal government and it is also the site of Mo Church, the only Church of Norway church in the municipality. The main "centre" of the village lies along the shore of the fjord where there are some small shops and a hotel that is run by some Icelanders.

The station is served by twelve daily departures per direction by the Bergen Commuter Rail operated by Vy, as well by the night train to Oslo Central Station. The 16-kilometre (9.9 mi) long valley begins at the lake Hamlagrøvatnet on the border of the municipalities of Vaksdal, Voss, and Kvam. The valley then runs to the northwest along the river Bergsdalselvi all the way to the village of Dale where the valley ends. This valley was historically part of the main route between the city of Bergen and Voss, until the European route E16 highway was built to the north of the valley.
