Nestor Bolum (born 19 September 1986) is a Nigerian professional boxer. As an amateur, he represented his country in the 2004 Summer Olympics. [1]
In 2003, southpaw Bolum, who works for the Nigerian Air Force, won the silver medal at the All-Africa Games in Abuja, Nigeria.
At the Olympics he was defeated in the quarterfinals of the bantamweight (54 kg) division by Thailand's eventual runner-up Worapoj Petchkoom.
At the Commonwealth Games he was edged out by eventual winner Akhil Kumar in the semifinal.
In November 2023, Bolum announced to the Guardian that he is returning to the boxing ring to face Luke Martin. [2] [3] [ needs update ]

Although women have participated in boxing for almost as long as the sport has existed, female fights have been effectively outlawed for most of boxing's history until recently, with athletic commissioners refusing to sanction or issue licenses to women boxers, and most nations officially banning the sport. Reports of women entering the ring go back to the 18th century.
Audley Hugh Harrison, is a British former professional boxer who competed from 2001 to 2013. As an amateur, he represented Great Britain at the 2000 Olympics, winning a gold medal in the super-heavyweight division and becoming the first ever British boxer to win Olympic gold in that division. Harrison turned professional the following year after signing a contract with BBC Sport, and went on to have seventeen fights on the network before their cancellation of all boxing broadcasts.
Michael Anthony Grant is an American professional boxer and world heavyweight title challenger. Grant’s pinnacle of his boxing career came in 2000 when he unsuccessfully challenged Lennox Lewis for the IBF, WBC and IBO heavyweight titles. He came in undefeated but was knocked out in two rounds by the eventual champion. He also held fringe titles in the IBC and WBF during this period.
Worapoj Petchkoom is a Thai boxer who competed in the bantamweight (54 kg) at the 2004 Summer Olympics and won the silver medal, after losing in the final to Cuban superstar Guillermo Rigondeaux. He had qualified for the Athens Games by topping the 2nd AIBA Asian 2004 Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Karachi, Pakistan. In the final, he defeated India's Diwakar Prasad.
Nigeria is represented at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne by a xx-member strong contingent comprising xx sportspersons and xx officials.
Armand Carlos Netsing Takam is a Cameroonian French professional boxer. He has challenged once for the unified WBA (Super), IBF, and IBO heavyweight titles in 2017. As an amateur, he represented Cameroon at the 2004 Olympics.
Troy Amos-Ross is a Guyanese-Canadian retired professional boxer. As an amateur, he competed in the light heavyweight division at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia.

Ajose Olusegun is a British-Nigerian former professional boxer who competed from 2001 to 2014. He challenged once for the WBC interim super lightweight in 2012. At regional level, he held the ABU super lightweight title in 2004;the Commonwealth super lightweight title from 2007 to 2010; and the British super lightweight title in 2009. As an amateur, he won a gold medal in the light welterweight division at the 1999 All-Africa Games and represented Nigeria at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.

Jai Opetaia is an Australian professional boxer. He held the International Boxing Federation (IBF) title from 2022 until 2023. He currently holds the Ring magazine and lineal cruiserweight titles. As an amateur, he won a bronze medal at the 2012 Youth World Championships and represented Australia at the 2012 Olympics and 2014 Commonwealth Games. He is a former undisputed light-welterweight champion, having held the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Association (WBA) titles between 2019 and 2022, the World Boxing Council (WBC) title between 2021 and 2022, the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) title between 2021 and 2023 and the Ring magazine title between 2019 and 2023. At regional level, he held the Commonwealth light-welterweight title from 2016 to 2017. As an amateur, he won a lightweight silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and light-welterweight gold at the 2014 edition.
