The southern summit of Huascarán, which reaches 6,768 metres (22,205 ft), is the highest point in Peru, the northern Andes, and in all of the earth's Tropics. Huascarán is the 4th highest mountain in South America after Aconcagua, Ojos del Salado, and Monte Pissis. Huascarán is ranked 25th by topographic isolation.
Huascarán National Park is a Peruvian national park that comprises most of the mountain range known as Cordillera Blanca which is part of the central Andes, in the region of Ancash. The park covers an area of 340,000 hectares and is managed by the Peruvian Network of Protected Natural Areas, or SERNANP. It was designated as a World Heritage Site in 1985 by UNESCO, is also a well-known mountaineering spot, and harbors a unique biodiversity with plant species such as the Queen of the Andes, trees of the genera Polylepis and Buddleja, and animals such as spectacled bears, condors, vicunas, and tarucas.
Huayna Potosí is a mountain in Bolivia, located near El Alto and about 25 km north of La Paz in the Cordillera Real.
Los Andes is one of the twenty provinces in the central parts of the Bolivian La Paz Department. The province was legally founded on November 24, 1917, during the presidency of José Gutiérrez Guerra. The Spanish name of the province means "The Andes", referring to its position within the Cordillera Real which is part of the Bolivian Andes mountain range. The capital of the province is Pucarani, which has a population of 918 as of the 2001 census. Pucarani is situated in the Altiplano west of the Cordillera Real offering a view of some of its highest mountains such as Ch'iyar Juqhu, Chachakumani, Kunturiri, Wayna Potosí and Chacaltaya.
Palcaraju is a mountain in the Cordillera Blanca mountain range in the region of Ancash within the Peruvian Andes. It has an elevation of 6,274 metres (20,584 ft) on its main summit.
Zapaleri is a volcano whose summit is the tripoint of the borders of Argentina, Bolivia and Chile. A number of railways are in the area. It is part of Potosí Department (Bolivia), Jujuy Province (Argentina), and Antofagasta Region (Chile). The volcano formed on top of the 2.89 mya Tara Ignimbrite from the Guacha caldera and the basement beneath the volcano is formed from Cretaceous and Tertiary rocks affected by tectonic deformation. Volcanic rocks are andesite, basalt, dacite and rhyolite. Late Cretaceous rocks are also found in the area, as are Pleistocene shoshonite volcanic rocks.

Pucaraju or Pukaraju is a mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru, about 5,025 metres (16,486 ft) high. It is situated in the Ancash Region, Mariscal Luzuriaga Province, Lucma District, in the Pomabamba Province, Llumpa District, and in the Yungay Province, Yanama District. Pucaraju lies southeast of Taulliraju and west of the lakes named Wiqruqucha and Orgoncocha.
Yanacocha is a lake in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru located in Chacas District, Asunción Province, Ancash Region. It is situated at a height of about 4,250 metres (13,944 ft), about 470 m long and 161 m at its widest point. Yanacocha lies north-west of the mountain Perlilla, north-east of the mountain Pomabamba, south-west of the lakes Huegroncocha and Runtococha and north-east of the lakes Lauricocha and Paqarisha.
Paccharaju is a mountain of 5,744 m (18,845 ft) of elevation in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru. In other maps it is shown as comprising two peaks: Rocotuyo of 5,749 m (18,862 ft) and Rayococha of 5,460 m (17,913 ft). It is located between the provinces of Asunción Province and Carhuaz, in Ancash; southwest of mount Tarush Kancha, inside Huascarán National Park.

Urqunqucha is a lake in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru. It is situated at a height of 4,260 m (13,980 ft) comprising an area of 0.127530 km2 (127,530 m2). Urqunqucha is located in the Ancash Region, Mariscal Luzuriaga Province, Lucma District, east of the peak of Pukarahu.
