The Ottawa Senators, officially the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club and colloquially known as the Sens, are a professional ice hockey team based in Ottawa. The Senators compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference and play their home games at the 18,652-seat Canadian Tire Centre, which opened in 1996 as the Palladium.

The Ottawa Auditorium was a 7,500-seat arena located in Ottawa, Ontario. It was located in Downtown Ottawa at the corner of O'Connor and Argyle Streets, today the site of the Taggart Family YMCA. Built primarily for ice hockey, the arena was also used for sports events, assemblies and musical concerts.
Kraft Hockeyville is an annual competition sponsored by Kraft Heinz, the National Hockey League and the NHL Players' Association in which communities compete to demonstrate their commitment to the sport of ice hockey. The winning community gets a cash prize dedicated to upgrading their local home arena, as well as the opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game. Runners-up also get smaller cash prizes to upgrade their ice rinks. The contest is normally held in the winter and spring during the latter half of the NHL regular season while the winner is announced in late March or April, with the pre-season game usually held in September before the following regular season. If the winning arena is not adequately equipped to host the pre-season game, it is then played at an alternative site nearby.

The Lansdowne Park redevelopment was a public-private partnership redevelopment of the Lansdowne Park fairgrounds in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. In September 2007, cracks were discovered in Frank Clair Stadium, and a portion of the south-side stands was demolished due to safety concerns. The City of Ottawa subsequently initiated an international design competition to redevelop Lansdowne Park. However, it suspended the competition when a group of Ottawa businessmen known as the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG), who had been awarded a Canadian Football League franchise on the condition of securing a home venue in Ottawa, proposed a public-private partnership with the City to rebuild the stadium and redevelop the grounds with residential and commercial uses to finance the reconstruction and annual upkeep of the site. Ottawa City Council entered into a partnership with the OSEG group and cancelled its competitive process.

The Gatineau LRT is a planned 26 km (16 mi) light rail system proposed by the Ville de Gatineau to be located in Gatineau, Quebec as well as Ottawa, Ontario. The system will be operated by Société de transport de l'Outaouais (STO), Gatineau's public transportation service. The system is planned to begin operation in 2032. Preliminary estimates put the cost of the project at CA$2.1 billion, though this estimate does not include the Ottawa portion. More recent estimates are upwards of $3.5 billion. The Ville de Gatineau is looking to the Government of Quebec to fund 60 percent of the project and for the Canadian federal government to fund 40 percent of the project.

Dream LeBreton is a residential project part of the NCC’s LeBreton Flats Master Concept Plan. The project consists of two city high-rise buildings just outside downtown Ottawa. The architecture firms involved in the project include Perkins & Will, KPMB Architects, which were supported by Two Row Architects and Purpose Building. The National Capital Commission selected the project through a design competition. The residences are part of a housing development initiative to generate sustainable, affordable housing in a developing area. The buildings include various types of condos while also including retail, food, health services, and a daycare. The buildings consist of 601 housing units, of which 246 will be affordable units, reaching 31 and 36 story's high and 721,000 square feet. The project launched in 2023 and is set to be complete by 2027.
