The Newcastle School of Theology for Ministry was established in 2006 to provide theological education for the training and formation of lay leaders, deacons and priests in the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle. [1] It ceased operation in 2014.

Trinity College Theological School (TCTS) is an educational division of Australia's Trinity College, the oldest residential college of the University of Melbourne. It is also one of the constituent colleges of the University of Divinity. The School provides theological education and shapes men and women for ordained and lay ministry in the Anglican tradition, as well as providing other programs of study, including higher degrees by research.
Douglas Robert Stevens is an Australian bishop. He was the Bishop of Riverina in the Anglican Church of Australia from 2005 to 2012. He is currently in parish ministry in Brisbane.
The Eastern Region Ministry Course (ERMC), based in Cambridge, is a part-residential theological training course which offers initial ministerial training on behalf of the Church of England. It used to offer this for the Methodist Church in Britain, the United Reformed Church, and occasionally other churches in England. These other Churches have now withdrawn from partnerships in regional training courses. Students typically attend the course for two or three years.
The Anglican Diocese of Armidale is a diocese of the Anglican Church of Australia located in the state of New South Wales. As the Diocese of Grafton and Armidale, it was created by letters patent in 1863. Dorothy Ann Lee is an Australian theologian and Anglican priest, formerly dean of the Trinity College Theological School, Melbourne, a college of the University of Divinity, and continuing as Frank Woods Distinguished Professor of New Testament. Her main research interests include the narrative and theology of the Gospels, particularly the Gospel of John, spirituality in the New Testament, the Transfiguration and Anglican worship.
Peter Derrick James Stuart is a British-born Anglican bishop in the Anglican Church of Australia. He has served as the bishop of the Diocese of Newcastle since 2 February 2018. He previously served as an assistant bishop in the diocese from 2009 to 2018.
Helen-Ann Macleod Hartley is a British Anglican bishop, Lord Spiritual, and academic. Since 2023, she has served as Bishop of Newcastle in the Church of England. She previously served as Bishop of Waikato in New Zealand from 2014 to 2017, and area Bishop of Ripon in the Diocese of Leeds from 2018 to 2023. She was the first woman to have trained as a priest in the Church of England to join the episcopate, and the third woman to become a bishop of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia.
Mark Simon Austin Tanner is a British Anglican bishop and academic. Since 2020, he has been the Bishop of Chester; he previously served as Bishop of Berwick, a suffragan bishop in the Diocese of Newcastle since his 2016 consecration as bishop; and from August 2011 until his consecration, he was the Warden of Cranmer Hall, Durham, a Church of England theological college.
St John's College, Morpeth, known colloquially as the "Poor Man's College, Armidale", was opened in Armidale in 1898 as a theological college to train clergy to serve in the Church of England in Australia. It moved to Morpeth in 1926 and closed in 2006.
Charles William Murry, commonly known as Charlie Murry is an Australian bishop in the Anglican Church of Australia. He has served as an assistant bishop in the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle, as the assistant bishop for the Coastal Episcopate, since May 2018.

Catherine Ruth Pickford is an English Anglican priest. Since September 2020, she has served as Archdeacon of Northolt in the Diocese of London, Church of England. She had previously been in parish ministry in the Diocese of Newcastle since her ordination in 2000, serving as Rector of St James' Church, Benwell (2009–2015) and priest-in-charge of Stannington, Northumberland (2015–2020). Pickford is a member of the General Synod of the Church of England.
Catherine Ann Sourbut Groves is a British Anglican priest. Since November 2020, she has served as Archdeacon of Lindisfarne in the Church of England Diocese of Newcastle. She had previously worked in academia and administration at the University of Bath, and in parish ministry in the Diocese of Bath and Wells.
