Newton Township was a township in New Jersey, United States, that existed initially within Gloucester County from its creation in 1695, and became part of Camden County when that county was formed in 1844, where it existed until its dissolution in 1871.
Newton Township was incorporated as a township by Royal Charter on June 1, 1695, within Gloucester County. The township was incorporated by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 21, 1798. [1]
On February 13, 1828, the city of Camden was formed within the township. [1]
Newton Township became one of the original townships of the newly formed Camden County, on March 13, 1844. [1]
On February 23, 1865, portions of the township were taken to create Haddon Township. On March 7, 1871, as a result of the “Act to revise and amend the charter of the city of Camden”, which had been approved February 14, 1871. This Act extinguished the old township of Newton by annexing all of its remaining territory to the City of Camden., [2] and Newton Township was dissolved. [1] Current municipalities included in the area that was formerly part of Newton Township include Haddon Township, Camden, Collingswood, Audubon, Haddonfield and Pennsauken Township.
Camden County is a county located in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Its county seat is Camden. As of the 2017 Census estimate, the county's population was 510,719, making it the state's 8th-largest county, representing a 0.7% decrease from the 513,657 enumerated at the 2010 Census, in turn having increased by 4,725 from the 508,932 counted in the 2000 Census. The most populous place was Camden, with 77,344 residents at the time of the 2010 Census, while Winslow Township covered 58.19 square miles (150.7 km2), the largest total area of any municipality.

As of the 2010 United States Census, the township had a total population of 64,634, reflecting an increase of 284 (+0.4%) from the 64,350 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 10,553 (+19.6%) from the 53,797 counted in the 1990 Census. The township ranked as the 19th most-populous municipality in the state in 2010 after having been ranked 18th in 2000.

It is located directly across the Delaware River from Philadelphia and the Port of Philadelphia.

As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 4,038, reflecting a decline of 150 (-3.6%) from the 4,188 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn declined by 242 (-5.5%) from the 4,430 counted in the 1990 Census.
Route 168 is a 10.75-mile (17.30 km) state highway in the southern part of New Jersey in the United States. The route's southern terminus is an interchange with Route 42 and the Atlantic City Expressway in the Turnersville section of Washington Township, Gloucester County. The northern terminus is an intersection with County Route 603 on the border of Camden and Woodlynne in Camden County. At this point, the route continues toward downtown Camden as CR 605. Route 168 follows the Black Horse Pike for most of its length, running through suburban areas in Gloucester Township, Runnemede, Bellmawr, and Mount Ephraim. It intersects many major roads, including the Route 42 freeway in Gloucester Township, Route 41 in Runnemede, the New Jersey Turnpike and Interstate 295 (I-295) in Bellmawr, Route 76C in Haddon Township, and U.S. Route 130 in Camden.

The founders of Newton Colony were William Bates, George Goldsmith, Mark Newbie, Thomas Sharp, Thomas Thackara and Robert Zane. The original Newton Colony occupied most of the present day municipalities of Oaklyn and Collingswood, New Jersey. The original colony grew to occupy a portion of the present day municipalities of Camden, Haddon Township, Pennsauken Township, and Haddonfield.

Holy Saviour School of Holy Saviour Roman Catholic Parish was an elementary school located on Virginia Avenue in the Westmont section of Haddon Township, Camden County, New Jersey, United States, from 1929 to 2008. Holy Saviour parish was formally incorporated on December 7, 1928, after receiving a charter from the Bishop of Trenton in 1927 as “Church of the Holy Saviour,” a parish in what was then the Trenton Diocese. Holy Saviour became part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Camden when it was formed in December 1937.

The town is unrelated to the Waretown that exists today in Ocean County, New Jersey.
