The fourth season of Next Great Baker premiered on June 24, 2014. [1] Unlike other previous seasons, the teams competed in teams of two. [2] Other changes from the previous seasons include the addition of Jacques Torres and Bobbie Lloyd as judges, [3] the addition of the final showdown, and the opportunity to work at Buddy's Las Vegas cake shop. However, some aspects of the show were similar, including having ten competitors (or teams) as in season 1, and the $100,000 prize awarded in each of the previous seasons remained.

During the fourth season, there were ten different teams of two. The first episode aired on June 24, 2014. This marks the first time that there were ten competitors since the first season. Seasons two and three both had 13 competitors.

Notes
  1. This episode did not have a baker's challenge, but the purple team won an advantage based on their choice of workstation. They also won the fan vote.
  2. After being eliminated in episode 8, the purple team returned to the competition in episode 9, but were eliminated regardless.
  3. In episode 4, Jose was declared MVP of the winning team.

  • "'Baker's Challenge'" : For the first Baker's Challenge, each team of two has 1 hour to bake a dessert good of their choosing. Buddy and two famous pastry artists (Jacques Torres and Bobbie Lloyd) are judges. The pink team, mother and daughter Julie and Danielle Voudrie, has won due for their cinnamon roll; for this they're rewarded to be the first to pick the location of their choosing for the Cake Challenge.
  • "'Cake Challenge'" : Each team of two has to go to an iconic location in New York and New Jersey and make a cake inspired by the location itself. During their car ride to the Statue of Liberty, the maroon team, aunt and niece Kaiulani Delgado and Roxanne Bodell, experience a car crash, in which Kai, who was driving the car, cries because she never experienced this before and switches the driver's position.

Next Great Baker is an American television series that airs on TLC, hosted by Buddy Valastro, the star of his own reality series, Cake Boss. The show features contestants participating in challenges that test their edible art baking and decorating skills. Each week, a contestant will be eliminated; the last contestant standing will win a grand prize package that varies by season. The second season of Next Great Baker was televised from November 28, 2011 to January 30, 2012 on TLC. This season was set at the new Carlo's Bake Shop facility at Lackawanna Center in Jersey City, New Jersey.

The fourth season of Top Chef Masters was announced on May 24, 2012. Food and travel journalist, Krista Simmons, and features editor of Gilt Taste, Francis Lam, join James Oseland and Ruth Reichl as new additions to the judges' table. The season premiered on July 25, 2012 with 12 award-winning chefs competing in weekly challenges to win $100,000 for their charity and the title of Top Chef Master.

The third season of Next Great Baker aired from November 26, 2012, to February 11, 2013. Like the previous season, this season was set at the Carlo's Bake Shop facility at Lackawanna Center in Jersey City, New Jersey. Unlike the previous two seasons, the finale for this season took place outside of the greater New York City area – in this case, in Las Vegas, Nevada at The Venetian Las Vegas.

<i>The Great British Bake Off</i> (series 1) First series of The Great British Bake Off

The first series of The Great British Bake Off first aired on BBC Two on 17 August 2010. Ten home bakers took part in a bake-off to test their baking skills as they battled to be designated the best amateur baker. Each week the programme bakers participated in three challenges in a particular discipline, with some being eliminated at the end of each episode. The rounds of the competition took place in various locations across the UK following a theme, for example, the episode on puddings took place in Bakewell, bread baking would take place near Sandwich. This first series had a voiceover by Stephen Noonan; for the subsequent series this role was taken by the on-screen presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins. The competition was won by Edd Kimber.

Next Great Baker: Latin America was a Latin American television series that airs on Discovery Home & Health: Latin America, hosted by Buddy Valastro, the star of his own reality series, Cake Boss. In the show, eight contestants participated in challenges that tested their baking and decorating skills. Each week, a contestant was eliminated; the last contestant standing won a grand prize prize of US$50,000. <i>Nailed It!</i> American reality bake-off competition show

Nailed It! is an American reality television series that premiered on March 9, 2018. The series is exclusively available on Netflix. The series is a bake-off competition in the style of reality television, where three amateur bakers compete to replicate complicated cakes and confectionery in order to win a $10,000 cash prize and the "Nailed It" trophy.

The first season of Top Chef: Just Desserts was broadcast on Bravo. It featured 12 pastry chefs fighting to win the title of Top Chef.
