Nicholas Grainger (born 3 October 1994) is an English freestyle swimmer representing Great Britain at the FINA World Aquatics Championships. He has won two gold medals as part of a relay team at the World Championships.

Early life

Grainger was born on 3 October 1994 in Rotherham, England. [1] He studied at Sheffield Hallam University. [2]

Career

Grainger competed for City of Sheffield before being selected for the national team. He first competed in an international in the 2014 Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow, but only finished eighth in the 200m freestyle due to a back injury that affected his training before the games. [3]

In 2015, Grainger qualified for the World Championships after finishing second in the final of the 400m freestyle at the British Swimming Championships. [4] At the 2015 World Aquatics Championships, he failed to qualified for the 400m freestyle final, but he was part of team that won gold in the Men's 4 × 200m freestyle relay. He swam in the heats but not in the final. [5]

At the 2017 World Aquatics Championships, Grainger won gold in the 4x200m freestyle with James Guy, Stephen Milne and Duncan Scott. [6]

At the 2018 Commonwealth Games held in the Gold Coast, Australia, Grainger was part of the team that won silver in the 4x200 m freestyle. [7]

Emma McKeon Australian swimmer

Emma McKeon, is an Australian competitive swimmer. McKeon has won four medals, including one gold, at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, eleven medals, including one gold, at the World Aquatics Championships; and twelve medals, including eight gold, at the 2014 Glasgow and 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Benjamin Proud is an English competitive swimmer, representing Great Britain at the Olympic Games, the FINA World Aquatics Championships and LEN European Aquatics Championships, and England at the Commonwealth Games. Proud specialises in sprint freestyle and butterfly races. He is the 2017 world champion in the 50-metre butterfly. He currently represents Energy Standard in the International Swimming League.

Calum Jarvis is a Welsh competitive swimmer who has represented Great Britain in the FINA world championships and Wales in the Commonwealth Games. Jarvis competes primarily in freestyle and backstroke events. In 2014 he competed at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow as part of the Welsh team, winning the bronze medal in the 200m freestyle. Adam Peaty British swimmer

Adam George Peaty, is a British competitive swimmer who specialises in the breaststroke. He has represented Great Britain at the Olympic Games, World Championships and European Championships, and England in the Commonwealth Games. He won the gold medal in the 100 metre breaststroke at the 2016 Olympics, the first by a male British swimmer in 24 years. He is the current holder of the world record in 50 metre and 100 metre breaststroke events.

Daniel Wallace is a retired Scottish swimmer who has represented Great Britain in the Olympic Games and FINA world championships, and Scotland in the Commonwealth Games. The 2014 Commonwealth Games champion at 400 metre individual medley, he was part of the Great Britain 4 x 200 metre freestyle relay team that won gold at the 2015 FINA World Aquatics Championships, and silver at the same event at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Duncan Scott (swimmer) Scottish swimmer

Duncan William MacNaughton Scott is a British swimmer representing Great Britain at the FINA World Aquatics Championships and the Olympic Games, and Scotland at the Commonwealth Games. An all-rounder in the pool, Scott has swum internationally in 100 and 200 metres freestyle and butterly, and 200 metres individual medley. He has won two golds at the World Championships in 4 x 200 metre freestyle relay, a gold in the 4 x 100 metre medley relay, as well as silvers at the World Championships and Olympics in freestyle and medley relay. Individually, Scott was the 100 metre freestyle champion at the 2015 European Games and 2018 Commonwealth Games, and the 200 metre freestyle champion at the same European Games and the 2018 European Aquatics Championships.

Taylor Madison Ruck is a Canadian competitive swimmer. She won two Olympic bronze medals as part of Canada's women's 4×100 metre and 4×200 metre freestyle relay teams at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Ruck won eight medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. Her eight medal performance of one gold, five silver, and two bronze tied her with three other athletes for the most all-time at a single Commonwealth Games, as well as making her the most decorated Canadian female athlete ever at a single Commonwealth Games. Kyle Abeysinghe is a Sri Lankan national swimmer who has represented his country at several international competitions. At the domestic level, Abeysinghe holds numerous national records, has been national champion several times, and is a member of the Killer Whale Aquatic Club, under his coach and father, Manoj Abeysinghe.

Freya Anderson is a British swimmer, known primarily for her achievements as a freestyle sprinter. Freya has achieved seven gold medals, and three bronze medals at the European Championships, including 5 golds and a bronze in a single meet at the 2020 Championships in Budapest, as well as two bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games and a bronze at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships.
