Nicholas Duncan Brodie (born 6 August 1986) [1] is a former British cox.
Whilst in education at Abingdon School he gained colours for the rowing team and was captain of the Abingdon School Boat Club. He won the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup in 2002 and became a World Junior Champion in 2003, along with fellow Abingdonian Jamie Anderson when the eight won the gold medal in Athens. [2] After leaving Abingdon in 2004 he attended St Catherine's College at Oxford and joined the St Catherine's College Boat Club.
Brodie became president of the Oxford University boat club and in 2007 was selected as Cox for the Oxford dark blue boat at the world renowned Boat Race but finished on the losing side. One year later in 2008 he was selected again [3] and this time finished on the winning side during difficult conditions. Brodie was thrown into the river during the celebrations of the Oxford team. [4] In addition to this he coxed the Great Britain eight to gold at the 2003 Junior World Championships, won the Open Eights in the 2003 Junior Worlds and was a silver medalist with the coxed four at the 2004 World Junior Championships.

From 1990 to 1998 he was the stroke of Australia's prominent world class crew – the coxless four known as the Oarsome Foursome.

University of London Boat Club is the rowing club for the University of London with membership open to students of all of its constituent colleges. ULBC is one of British Rowing’s most senior and successful clubs, with a powerful alumni network. As with other collegiate universities, many of the University of London's colleges have their own boat clubs. Members of these college boat clubs who feel strong enough can trial for a place in the squad of The University Of London Boat Club to compete at an elite level. But the majority of student athletes who join the club do so with prior experience at an elite level. The club has its boat house on the River Thames in Chiswick, London, United Kingdom and is a designated High Performance Programme for GB Rowing, providing a pathway for athletes onto the U23 and Senior GB Rowing Teams
Caryn Davies is an American rower. She won gold medals as the stroke seat in women's eight at the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2008 Summer Olympics. In April 2015 Davies stroked Oxford University to victory in the first ever women's Oxford/Cambridge boat race held on the same stretch of the river Thames in London where the men's Oxford/Cambridge race has been held since 1829. She was the most highly decorated Olympian to take part in either [men's or women's] race. In 2012 Davies was ranked number 4 in the world by the International Rowing Federation. At the 2004 Olympic Games she won a silver medal in the women's eight. Davies has won more Olympic medals than any other U.S. oarswoman. The 2008 U.S. women's eight, of which she was a part, was named FISA crew of the year. Davies is from Ithaca, New York, where she graduated from Ithaca High School, and rowed with the Cascadilla Boat Club. Davies was on the Radcliffe College (Harvard) Crew Team and was a member on Radcliffe's 2003 NCAA champion Varsity 8, and overall team champion. In 2013, she was a visiting student at Pembroke College, Oxford, where she stroked the college men's eight to a victory in both Torpids and the Oxford University Summer Eights races. In 2013–14 Davies took up Polynesian outrigger canoeing in Hawaii, winning the State novice championship and placing 4th in the long distance race na-wahine-o-ke-kai with her team from the Outrigger Canoe Club. In 2013, she was inducted into the New York Athletic Club Hall of Fame. She has served as a Vice President of the U.S. Olympians Association and as athletes' representative to the Board of USRowing.
