Nicholas Mark Catania (born 18 December 1945) is a former Australian politician. Catania served as Mayor of the City of Vincent in inner-city Perth,Western Australia,between 2001 and 2011. He was a member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly for the Electoral district of Balcatta between 1989 and 1996. [1] [2]
Catania was born in Castell'Umberto,Italy and is the father of National Party politician Vince Catania. [3] [4]

She is best known for her role as the minister for planning and infrastructure during the construction of the Mandurah line. Born in Melbourne,she moved to Perth to study at the University of Western Australia,graduating with a Bachelor of Arts and later with a law degree. She worked for the Department of Employment before practising as a lawyer between 1986 and 1992. During this time,she also served on the Perth City Council. In 1976,MacTiernan joined the Australian Labor Party,and at the 1993 Western Australian state election,she was elected to the Legislative Council's East Metropolitan Region. She became a shadow minister in October 1994,and she was transferred to the Legislative Assembly at the 1996 state election,winning the seat of Armadale.

In 1981,he was elected to the City of Bayswater council,and in 1984,he became the mayor of Bayswater,in which position he served until 2001.

Adele Simone Carles is an Australian former politician. She was a member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly from 2009 to 2013,representing the electorate of Fremantle. She was initially elected as a Greens WA member at the 2009 Fremantle state by-election,becoming the first Greens candidate to be elected to an Australian state lower house of parliament in a single-member seat. However,she resigned from the Greens on 6 May 2010 to sit as an independent. In November 2010,Carles agreed to guarantee confidence and supply votes for the incumbent Colin Barnett Liberal minority government. She ran for re-election as an independent at the 2013 state election,but was defeated,finishing fourth behind the Labor,Liberal and Greens candidates with 5.49% of the vote.
